Reno highlights

-
Virginia Street and casinos
Walk under the famous Reno Arch on Virginia Street and let "The Biggest Little City in the World" greet you. There's still plenty to see on the neon-lit strip, including the Atlantis, Peppermill and Harrah's casinos.
-
Pyramid Lake
A bus ride north of central Reno is Pyramid Lake, a tranquil nature spot ideal for hiking, fishing, swimming and picnicking on your Reno vacation. You can hook yourself a fishing permit for $9 and camp overnight for the same price. With a mountainous landscape to boot, Pyramid Lake is perfect for anyone seeking a Kodak moment on their Reno travels. In fact, you won't know where to point and shoot first.
-
Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center
Science buffs, this place is good. Finding its home within the University of Nevada, Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center plays host to a bevy of exhibitions and a state-of-the-art theatre where you can learn about the solar system. Entry is free, but you can make a small donation if you wish.
-
Nevada Museum of Art
A $10 entry fee grants access to one of the best art museums in the state, packed with paintings, prints, photographs and fashion exhibitions. You're welcome to explore on your own, or join one of the free guided tours to get more bang for your sight-seeing buck. If you're visiting on Sunday and have the kids in tow, check out the cool hands-on family activities.
-
Little Waldorf Saloon
A Reno icon, the Little Waldorf Saloon is home to cheap drinks, cheap food and the friendliest people in town. Most items on the lunch and dinner menu will cost you no more than $10, so it's a great place to eat, drink and be merry on your Reno travels. Channel your inner Elvis and try the Jiffy Burger, packed with plenty of cheesy goodness, crispy bacon and peanut butter.
