4.1 / 5 41 reviews
The Royal Mayan is the hideaway for your Mexican Caribbean dream vacation. Nestled beside Cancun's finest beach, the resort offers endless views of powder-white sands and sparkling turquoise waters. The lovingly tended gardens between The Royal Mayan and its sister resorts The Royal Caribbean and The Royal Islander are full of hibiscus, bougainvillea and other tropical shrubs to attract colorful native birds and butterflies. From its name to the sculptures of Mayan gods and long-lost rulers in the lobby and in the gardens and even the hand-carved mahogany villa doors, The Royal Mayan takes its inspiration from the Maya, one of the most sophisticated ancient cultures in the Americas. There is even an archaeological site on the doorstep! Best time to take a vacation to Cancun

  • The year round tropical climate and consequential high temperatures of Cancun mean that there is never an uncomfortable time to visit, but the dry season running from May through to October is the ideal window. Early spring or early fall are a lot less crowded and more likely to offer the good deals on hotels and other accommodations. Every May there is a patriotic parade plus a huge firework display to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Mexico’s Independence Day. Almost as popular is Fiesta de San Román, attracting tens of thousands of people, and Mardi Gras, an always colorful celebration with extravagant floats and entertainment.
