The biggest draw for guests visiting The Edgewater in Seattle is the location. The Edgewater remains the only waterfront hotel in the entire city. There is no better way to truly see the beauty of Seattle and the Pacific Ocean, than by staying directly on the water. The Edgewater is able to maintain its proximity to the Pacific Ocean because it is built directly on Pier 67. Bill Clinton, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, have all stayed at The Edgewater while visiting Seattle. The amazing location of The Edgewater has earned it numerous awards. It was named "Best Hotel in Seattle" by CNBC and Curbed Magazine.

Highlights

Seattle is known for having a great dining scene, but you will never have to leave The Edgewater to eat at one of the best restaurants in the city. The only restaurant on the hotel property is Six Seven Restaurant, which is known for its sophisticated Pacific Northwest cuisine. If you do not want to go down to Six Seven Restaurant, you can have your meal delivered to your room. If you are just looking for a great place to get a drink, then the Six Seven Lounge will take care of all your needs. The Edgewater also features a fitness center and a small boutique shop.

Wedding trip

This was a memorable week in Seattle with the venue for the wedding right down the street from the Edgewater. We could walk to all of the events from the Hotel which is why I had chosen the place. What was a pleasant surprise was how professional and accommodating all of the service was. The location on the water was spectacular.

Nice Location on the Water

The hotel was nice and had a great location. The on-site restaurant was amazing and we ate there several times. I was worried that the room would feel too small at 350 sq ft, but we had plenty of room. My only concerns are the following: 1) we had a city view room this was more like a pine tree view 2) We ordered room service one morning and it was 25 minutes late, and cold when it eventually arrived 3) The hotel is extremely near a train track, and in the middle of the night you would definitely hear the train. The hotel provides ear plugs for this very purpose, but if you don't like sleeping in ear plugs, you might have a night or two of interrupted sleep 4) The fitness facility is much smaller than it seemed it would be on the website. I would still stay there again it was a great walking distance from everything we wanted to get to. The staff was friendly too. Amazing views from the lounge and lobby.

Awesome anniversary getaway

We arrived almost 6 hours early, but our room was ready and we were able to check-in early without an up-charge. The staff was professional and personable, efficient, helpful and friendly. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the pillows were outstanding. We had an unobstructed view of Elliot Bay from our spacious balcony. The restaurant and lounge looked inviting, but we were with such easy walking distance to waterfront bars and restaurants as well as the restaurants and deli's in the Pike's Market area that we did not use either the hotel food and drink facilities.

Beautiful view; unusual decor

I had a room on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the water. Very beautiful, and the radiant heat fire place was warm and cozy. However, for the price, I was disappointed to see that the room's dresser/storage unit looked old and worn (and not "distressed" which might have been appropriate considering the hotel featured the type of decor you might see in a lodge.) Also, the closet door had a large gouge on the front of it. Just a small amount of paint could have worked wonders. Ya gotta wonder why they couldn't be bothered.... Also, walls were not soundproof!

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Walk down to the pier where the ferries run. Great views of the city and surrounding area from the ferry to Bainbridge for a modest price.

Fabulous Vacation

If you choose this hotel - make sure you are on the water, 1st floor and balcony! We loved our stay. Spent many hours just in the room looking out the window at the Sound! Staff was outstanding, friendly and professional! just a great experience and we would always recommend this hotel for the Seattle Waterfront experience!

Very Good Hotel

This was my first time staying at this hotel and it was just great. I especially liked the live music every night in the bar/restaurant. I'm not sure if I would stay here again if I came back to Seattle due to price but it was a great weekend anyway.

Nickel Dimed to Death

The Edgewater was nice but the first problem was that the front desk staff told me to upgrade our room to a water facing room was $75 total cost but they neglected to tell me it was for each night. As a result the room cost $150 extra not $75 extra. Bad communication! The next problem was the fireplace in our room would not light and it released gas into the room that stunk do bad it forced us to open the window to blow out the gas and have a technician come up to fix the problem. It got fixed but I would have expected better maintenance from a 4 star rated hotel. The hotel also charged me $1 for every single local call I made on their phone. Seriously? The cost of parking was $36 per day for guests. Really? It seems like a no brainer that people will need to park on your property when they stay there. Where else would they park? Wireless internet was $4.50 per hour. Come on! Internet is a foregone conclusion anymore and with the cost of rooms here it should be included! Then there were the exorbitant prices of room service, the restaurant on site and at the bar at the restaurant. Sub par food from room service and huge prices for small plates and drinks. You definitely have to leave this place to eat and drink. No room water. Glasses to drink from the tap but the water is unfiltered. Blech! $4.50 for a candy bar - Gross! $13.99 to $17.99 for in room movies - PPV is usually $5 to $6 per movie. Can you say HUGE MARKUP? In short, for 2 nights in upgraded room, 3 movies, lunch, in room dinner service, 2 waters, 2 candy bars and taxes I got a check out bill of $490.00. OUCH! Edgewater, you can do better and I would not mind paying the prices for this hotel if it were truly a 4 star hotel not a 2 1/2 half star masquerading as one. I won't be returning.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Barollo Italian Restaurant is pricy but excellent and fun. The crowd and music are great and bar seating is open and cycles fast. Check it for sure when you are there.

proceed carefully...

"waterfront" means that they can put you on the end that has a warehouse. it blocks 1/2 of your view. so, you have to haggle with the poofs at the front desk for an "unobstructed view" before your stay. try to haggle for anything during your stay, and it costs you. if you stay below the top floor, you can hear the elephants above you, because this thing was built in the 60's. this hotel is all about the "Beatles", but if you want a more rock n' roll take - check wikipedia for the adventures that Led Zeppelin had at the Edgewater.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

take the top of the hour shuttle to the market. it conserves your energy for walking around and exploring from there (it's all uphill).
