Surprise in downtown.
I booked the hotel for the location, but I would stay here again for many different reasons. The staff were incredibly helpful and allowed me very early check-in prior to a business meeting. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for any business or leisure travel.

Uncomfortable Stay
The thermostat in room worked fine first night; second night we could NOT get it to cool down resulting in an uncomfortable night. Of two queens, a fitted bottom sheet not used on one. Decor of the room is dark wall covering. Finally, as annoying as anything else, the small refrigerator enclosed in a cabinet, sounded like, "Darth Vader" with breathing difficulties! Seriously! We did not much like the remodel of the dining room; seems for cafeteria-ish than sit down dining. For central downtown and theatre stays, this is the perfect place.

Downtown Seattle couples getaway 2013
This is a great location for the 5th Ave shows or downtown shopping. Walking distance to Pike Place market and the water front. We took the train to a Baseball game, $4 with less than a three block walk. Rooms were brand new with all new furniture. Bed was not installed safely and front desk was notified. Customer service was average.

I would have given 5 stars except they didn't have a room ready for us until over an hour after check in. Everything else was great.

Awesome location and beautiful remodel!
This hotel was much better than I expected, based on other stays in Seattle and stories from friends. They have apparently recently remodeled, and the place is sleek, contemporary, with some vintage accents. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The restaurant just opened, so the servers are still figuring some things out, but very friendly and open to suggestions. The room was comfortable with a super-soft bed, updated, well-lit bathroom, and great view. The only complaint was a hot-water issue the morning of our departure, which was apparently hotel-wide. Parking is valid until 4pm the day of your departure, so you can get out and play without moving your car! Downstairs/next door is a great pub with friendly staff and happy hour deals. It's only a couple blocks to Pike Place, so you are in an ideal location!

Seattle
The bed was so comfortable- it made it hard to get up in the morning! Other than that, the room was just average. The TV reception was pretty bad and the walls were bare (where's that cheesy hotel art?!). There is no A/C (or even just air!) in the room. Also, there is no vending machines with snacks- just soda... Since room service closes at 10pm, a vending machine woulda been nice :) I paid less for a room at the Warwick hotel in Seattle last month and am regretting not staying there again this time. It has character whereas the Red Lion is just generic and stuffy.
