great location, good value

Perfectly located near Seattle Center, making it a great place to stay when doing The Tourist Thing. There's a great variety of restaurants within walking distance -- including a 24-hour grocery store. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We bought a bottle of wine at the grocery store without thinking about how we'd get it open, but fortunately the front desk had corkscrews! The free breakfast is a huge upgrade from the usual bagels and cold cereal -- they've got a daily hot breakfast special, waffle irons to make your own waffles (and they were delicious!), plus fresh fruit, a variety of yogurt, and the usual muffin and breakfast pastry fare.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

Parking can get scarce in the late evening! Be sure to check in and park in the afternoon, (especially if it's particularly cold out) so you can get a spot in the garage.

The staff is very helpful, courteous, and attentive to your needs. I was able to have the rest of my family member's rooms on the same floor as I was staying even though some arrived at a later date. The staff was proactive by providing a mini refrigerator for my daughter to store my grandson's milk.

Very nice experience by the Space Needle

Our one night stay was an excellent experience. The rooms were fresh, clean and well appointed, the front desk staff was outstanding, and the location was excellent for a walking visit to downtown Seattle and the Space Needle. Local walking maps were provided, good advice was offered, and bottles of water were freely available to guests. The morning breakfast was excellent compared to most in this price range. The only minor quibble was the parking garage, we never did figure out how to open the parking garage gate from the inside but there must be a way. We would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again on our next visit.

The Space Needle is worth seeing but dinners there are expensive. If you want to spend a bundle for a two hour dinner there plan your reservations to span sunset and the dark of night. The view is gorgeous when the weather is clear!

Football weekend

Good bed, good breakfast with many choices, nice breakfast area, goof location near Seattle Center (easy walk to town). Good sleep. No road noise. The staff were kind and helpful. The only negative is no hhonours points because the room was not booked on their site. That's a new experience for me. It is not a big deal, but I wish it had somehow been made explicit beforehand.

The hotel was easy to find, conveniently located near Space Needle and close enough to Wharf/Pier area to walk. There is a 24hr grocery store one block away as well as a great pizza place & bar across the street. The room as very clean and comfortable.

Great for what I needed

This was the first I've ever taken as an "adult" and I couldn't be happier with how things went at the hotel. The location was perfect for our numerous trips to many attractions at Seattle Center. The downtown of Seattle was a bit farther, but still within walking distance and could be quickly accessed via the nearby monorail if walking is undesirable. The hotel had very friendly staff and a decent breakfast, but its fitness facility was poor #a new one is supposedly opening later this month, May 2013# and the hotel did not have a pool or hot tub if that's a big deal for you. I have yet to have the opportunity to stay at expensive, high-class hotels so I can't compare to those, but the Hampton was just as good as any mid-range hotel I've been to.

Great breakfast

We especially enjoyed the daily breakfast offerred. It was so nice to know we had a hot meal ready for us in the morning, and we saved money being able to eat at the hotel.
