Keep Calm and Carry On
Great location, excellent customer service
Everyone is very helpful and friendly. I stayed at the Fireplace Suite for 2 nights and it was immaculate. The location is ideal for tourists. The fitness room is pretty small though, only 1 treadmill and a few free weights. As everyone else states, the parking fee is 40/night but other than that no negatives about my stay

Great staff
Aside from a few detailing the room could have used by the cleaning staff (water marks on the sink, refill the shampoo dispensers), my stay was quite excellent. It is a pet-friendly hotel, which I've never experienced. Just be warned, if you have an allergy, this place is probably not for you. The elevators smelled a little like dog urine... No biggie, you're only in it for a few seconds. The best thing about the place is the staff, which are exceedingly helpful. Absolutely top notch. Pike place market is just a few blocks away, a very easy walk with no incline. Forget the car rental if you are just doing city sights, public transit and taxis are fine.

Runaway from Home
Alexis was a perfect getaway for the weekend. Very pet friendly. Only complaint is the TV size is too small for the distance from the bed.

nice hotel, but don't get a room on 1st
Incredible location, just blocks from Pike Place Market and a block from the ferries and waterfront. Very good restaurants inside the hotel (and lovely decor all around) and pets are welcome. Helpful and friendly staff; great parking service. My only complaint is that the rooms facing 1st Avenue are the noisiest I've ever been in. Shouting, car racing, and clinking from the flag poles outside our window kept us up off and on throughout the night. WAY too noisy, even for the soundest of sleepers. Also, the gym machines need to be tended to. Other than those two things, this hotel is delightful all the way around.

An exercise in patience
I took this trip for the thanksgiving holiday to visit my daughter, who stayed with me, in Seattle. The overall experience was a lesson in patience as nothing seemed to happen with any sense of urgency. The design of the hotel is nice, rooms have a good amount of space, so this was a plus. Service was lacking. Very limited menu past certain hours and even though the time said service was available till 10, they stopped the full menu at 8:30. breakfast was almost an hour to get food in the bookstore bistro. the place was not busy, just slow. Room service was sporadic, knocking when it said do not disturb, or even calling my room when I am trying to sleep. then no service at all for the entire stay, although someone had time to restock the toothpaste I purchased from the mini bar. trying to meet friends added an extra 20 min to get my car out of valet. Finally the $36 per night parking sealed the deal in that I will not return. I stay in nice hotels for service and to get away from work. this hotel did not deliver. Tim Safford

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
This isn't the best part of Seattle, be prepared for the homeless and people asking for money.
