gfreat weekend getaway for fall foliage

hotel was fine.....not many guests and restaurant was very limited and expensive for what we had. Food was not cooked to order and we were the only ones in the restaurant that evening. Rooms were great, very clean and spacious.

The best hotel around the area

Four of us stayed here for two nights. We were there for skiing. Prime location. Ski check at the hotel is very convenient. The heated pool is big and warm even outside temperature is only 20 at night. Two jacuzzi are more than plenty. We found ourselves being the only family in the pool quite often. It is definitely the best outdoor heated pool we have ever seen. Steam room and sauna were a huge plus after one day of skiing.

Staff were all very friendly.

Staff were all very friendly. Free use of internet and printer. We were given wrong room when we first checked in, however this was soon rectified and we were given a lovely room over looking the ski slopes with a balcony. Rooms clean and spacious, perhaps slightly dated. Good selection at breakfast. Hot food, although in covered containers over heater, was not very warm. Very convenient for slopes, just a short walk over a bridge.

Worth coming back for.

The Grand Resort Hotel is a very nice and homey place. It feels like home but it's a hotel. If you are trying to save money on food. The place has stove, over, microwave for cooking. And the place is situated nicely with a killer view of the mountain ranges... A must stay hotel.

Amazing weekend getaway!

My fiancé and I the past weekend at the Killington Grand and couldn't have had a better time. The amenities at this resort were awesome! We decided to move our ski day from Saturday to Sunday after we arrived and realized we wanted to spend the whole day in the pool. What a great idea that was, as we practically had to the pool to ourselves all day until everyone else was done skiing for the day. We also took advantage of the free shuttle to go for dinner on Saturday night. The free breakfast buffet was just the "cherry on top" of our weekend! Can't wait to visit again!

Seasonal

During the summer, business must be slow, because the restaurant wasn't open for dinner. We stayed here two years ago during the same time in June and didn't experience this. This is common to this area, as another place we stayed at was not serving dinner either. The front desk did give a list of restaurants that were open, and the gift shop had some prepared meals, so they had some options and those staff were friendly. However, we were shocked at the rudeness of the housekeeping pair who knocked on our door at 1:30pm, and when we asked them to come back later, they said they were stopping at 2. So if we wanted the room cleaned, we had to leave then. When we came back later that night, the door was left ajar, we didn't need to key in. Luckily our belongings were still there. I complained to the front desk and they said that they had changed the tension on the doors because too many people were getting locked out.

Fantastic summer option

Although most of the hotel was somewhat unprepared for guests, the hotel was very good. There is not much around the hotel except the pool and sauna, the amazing views of Killington Mountain, and some unhelpful staff and bad restaurant.

Great Summer Vacation Spot

Every employee at the Killington Grand and the K-1 Gondola were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Enjoy the two hot tubs and pool and that amazing view of the peaks every chance you get. The family wedding was also great thanks to the well-groomed grounds and the large hall adjacent to the pool. If you have a large number of people in your group, spring for the suites so you can make use of the home-like setting and amenities. In the winter, I'm sure that in-suite sauna is a treasure.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Sugar & Spice is a 20 minute drive, but they serve the best pancakes & hot chocolate I've ever had, and I go out for breakfast all the time. It's a treasure that smells like Vermont maple syrup from every nook and crannie. Enjoy.
