Great for a family vacation

I took the family on vacation to Busch Gardens/Waterpark USA, and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The place had plenty of room for my family of six, two decent sized bedrooms, and a pullout. The property has plenty of amentities, including 4 seperate pools, a general store, miniature golf, etc. Would recommend for anyone looking for a 2 bedroom suite.

Ver accomodating

We had a mini family reunion there and found everyone very helpful and friendly. Pools were in great shape for Sept. Just one negitive comment... Had many Canadian geese on property... realizing it is hard to control.... but had lots of their droppings on sidewalks and paths and the grounds... not sure how to fix that problem.

TIMESHARE WITHOUT THE PRESSURE

AS TIMESHARE PROPERTIES GO, THIS ONE WAS REFRESHING IN THE FACT THAT THEY DID NOT OBLIGATE YOU TO ATTEND THE PRESENTATION BY INCREASING THE RATE AS SOME DO. THEY OFFERED INCENTIVES TO ATTEND BUT NO 'PENALTY' IF YOU OPTED NOT TO. THE ROOMS WERE COMFORTABLE AND FUNCTIONAL FOR OUR FAMILY. THE LOCATION WAS NO MORE THAN 5 TO 15 MINUTES FROM ANY MAJOR ATTRACTION OR HISTORIC SITE.

Just Beautiful

The Powhatan Plantation resort was just beautiful. I had a two bedroom suite and it was like a home away from a home. We had a separate living room as well as a dining room. The bedrooms were also separated from each other. The weather was bad during my stay, so we at least lucked out on having such remarkable accommadations.

Great Location

This was the perfect place to stay. We loved the hot tub that was connected to our room. Everything was very clean and we were in a very quiet section. I would definitely stay here again. It was located by everything we wanted to go to. There was a grocery store about a mile away so we stayed in and cooked a few nights. This would be a good place for anyone with 1-2 kids because it had a separate room and then a pull out couch. It would also be good if someone was staying for a week and was having some friends come for a night or two.

We went to a fabulous seafood buffet called Captain George's. It was expensive about 30 bucks a person but it was really worth it.

Great Get-a-Way Vacation

The Historic Powhatan Plantation, Williamsburg, Virginia exceeded our expectations. The property was very beautiful and well laid out. The suite that we stayed in, had all of the amenities one could ask for. The sauna was just off the back deck and just off the master bedroom. The living room was well appointed with a fireplace and comfortable furniture. There was a large dining area with a large table. It was well lit and had an almost homey feeling. The kitchen had all of the appliances we needed to feel right at home as well. Each unit is set up to allow individual privacy. The staff was courteous and made us feel welcome. The only draw backs we noted were; the master bed room unit is either too small or not properly arranged to provide walking space between the entertainment hutch and the bed and the food at the on site store was very pricey. We would strongly recommend The Powhantan Plantation Resort to our friends and family. We only wish our stay had been longer and we plan to take a trip back Williamsburg soon and have every intention of staying there again.

If you follow easy directions to Richmond Road, there are also several really good restaurants. If you like seafood, I would recommend Captain George's but it isn't cheap, but the diversity and quality of the food is second to none.

Great room and Pretty Resort

The room was GREAT! It was just me and my boyfriend that went. It was 2 floors! A queen bed, a living room, kitchen, washer / dryer, TWO full bathrooms (One with a little jacuzzi), and another floor with 2 twin beds!! Everything that was there was clean and in order and there were a lot of extras in the room that were useful - cups, plates, silverware, wine opener =) 2 tv's for down-time.. Room was very relaxing.. The resort was also beautiful.. With fountains and maintained grass, along with little lakes and then 2 pools (indoor and outdoor) and then the gym, bike rentals etc..It was close to the cute area of Yorktown, Busch Gardens, and Newport News. We went to a comedy club in Newport News one night about 30mins away, Winery tour and tastings about 5 mins away, Nice dinner in Yorktown with the FRESHEST Seafood about 20 mins away, and spent a day at Busch Gardens about 15 mins away.. so convenient location - VA beach is also only an hour away. The only downfall was that since it was a timeshare, they do not clean the hotel room every night, it's only once a week so our room wasn't cleaned (bed fixed) while we were there. The plus side of the timeshare was we spent an hour and half listening to a little speech and we got FREE tix to Busch Gardens ($57 a piece!) OVerall enjoyed the stay, location and resort and would recommend it to others!

Too family friendly?

The suite we had was perfect for us - two separate bedrooms and a pull-out couch in the living room - which served me and my two young adult children well. The jacuzzi was nice, there was entry to it from the master bedroom, the living room, and the back porch. The kitchen was fully equipped - full fridge, dishes, dishwasher, and apt. sized washer/dryer. It was larger than my first apartment! But, our upstairs neighbors were ridiculously noisy, spoke little English, and did little to be quiet after we politely asked them to. What we didn't realize until the end was that they were two whole families sharing a suite the same size as ours! Except for them, the vacation would have been perfect! We were minutes away from everything - Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Outlet shopping, great restaurants, etc. If we do it again, though, I think I'll ask for an upstairs unit!

Great Place

We really enjoyed our stay. Our only concerns were the check in. After getting your room assignment, one must go across the large reception hall to get a parking pass. Why not do this all at once. We were not really happy with having to put down a $100.00 security deposit. Other than that, the resort is lush, beautiful and comfortable.

Eat in the business district of Williamsburg, rather than in the historic area for more selection and better prices.
