Meeting facilities

Meeting Info
It's one thing to have a 16,000 square foot conference center. It's another thing to have that center overlooking the historic James River. And when that conference center is situated perfectly for river views, there's no such thing as an ordinary meeting at Kingsmill. The conference center isn't just beautiful, however. It's magnificently functional, too, with 16 meeting rooms, a dedicated Conference Concierge, the trademark continuous break service, ergonomic seating, soundproofing and leading-edge AV equipment.

LPGA weekend at Kingsmill

Overall great experience at Kingsmill. Have stayed at the resort for the LPGA tournament many times. It is nice walking out of your room a short distance to watch the worlds best women play golf.. Clubhouse passes are included with you stay during the tournament.

not what we expected

Guess we expected a king sized bed with a coffee maker in room, not someone's time-share with sitting area and kitchen. Spring cleaning needed to be done; not necessarily in suite, but cobwebs on windows in between screen and hanging drapes that needed to be re-attached to rods. We did not stay in a hotel - that's for sure!

Great time

Kings mill is a great place to stay. My wife and I were coming to VA for Busch Gardens for a few days and were lucky enough to stay here. So close to the park and close to places to eat. Concierge made reservations for us last minute for a great dinner. Staff was the best. Room was modern and very well kept. Great amenities as well. We will return in the future for sure

Not impressed

Well the trip started with how this hotel identifies a 1 bedroom. If you book a one bedroom they see it as a standard room. They tried to put me in a horrible, small room with bad linen and a tiny bathroom. Not like a 1 bedroom apt with a seperate room. They argued with me in front of other guests, very disrespectful....... Once I got into the room I booked the thermostat broke, so no hot water. With the rude staff, I would never stay there again. Not worth $150 a night

Upscale Resort & Spa

We loved it - beautiful setting, huge suites complete with kitchen, dining area, woodburning fireplace, deck, etc. Lots of dining selections available and resort buses provide free transportion. Can't wait to return and will stay longer the next time as we truly didn't have time to experience the entire guest package available.

Great for a weekend escape

Good service. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Expensive spa services but well worth it if you want to splurge. The River Course is a perfect mix of scenic and challenging if you want to hit the links.

Great for weekends...Awful for events

Difficult to write this review. The service from the staff on location was nothing shy of spectacular. Rooms were spacious (somewhat dated), grounds well maintained and beautiful. Location was ideal for Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. Food was fair but expensive. If it stopped there this would be 4 stars maybe even 5 on the service alone. Then there was the event and sales team. Unfortunately this is where I had the most($ and time) invested and where the staff regularly disappointed. Difficult to tell if it was incompetency, overwhelmed staff or unscrupulous business practices but I would never spend another nickel there and highly recommend others avoid. Events cost thousands. Like most events, you need to reserve space long in advance. Charges for my room were charged to my credit card 6 months in advance(2$K). This is how long that they had to arrange for a block of rooms for my family to be together. Since no discounts were being extended and we had a large family get together, the sales team committed to put us all together and a room upgrade extended. When I arrived, our rooms were splattered all over the resort property and only two rooms were upgraded. Transportation committed by the sales team also required a final hour phone call to the sales director to salvage. Once things start to go wrong, your committed and all that's left is damage control. Kingsmill personnel seem to understand this and act(or didn't act) accordingly. Weeks would go by with unreturned phone calls. Months would go by with unanswered questions. Too much money being spent for zero confidence that the people managing the event even had any ability to make it happen. Staying for the weekend great. Planning your wedding, business party, sports event- I'd look elsewhere. Special thanks however to 1) Dave, the bus driver was outstanding frequently offering insight on how best to utilize the resort amenities and see local attractions. Thanks bud! 2) Guy Burlage , singer/entertainer, for the after hours tribute for my parents after our anniversary party broke up! Class act!

Plenty of dining options on the property. Food is fair but expensive. Too bad because you could probably forgo the expense of a rental car otherwise. Amtrak is a $20 cab ride from the resort

they do not have enough bread there!

1. Ithe staff there told me that they could not find my reservation. Staff stated that because I used online service to make a reservation, my reservation did not pop up on their computer screen. took forever to resolve. 2. I arrived at the room- the room was not very clean, there are cobwebs by the doors inside the room. 3. I noticed this place is similar to a one bedroom apartment building. There were people staying above us and they were very loud and I could hear them walking on the floor above us. 4. I ordered room service the next day for breakfast. This took 45minutes to arrive. We ordered toast, coffee, and cereal The total bill was over 30dollars for this. Upon arrival of the food, the person told me that they ran out of bread!! But they did bring the butter and jelly (but no bread because the resort had run out of bread for our toast). 5. Cleaning person knocked on our door at 9am and asked us when we were checking out- waking me up. 6. I told the front desk about above concerns, they did not do anything to resolve my issues with concerns. The front desk person said "I will notify the proper individuals about your concerns, bye."
