business trip

First off got to tell you this place has no micro fridge or microwave. Even small hotels have this. Very disappointed in that since lugging around an ice chest to find a machine with ice proved to be a pain. Beds were a bit too soft for bad backs. This place also let young people party there with loud music open door and in and out. Doors had a hard time closing so you had to slam them shut. Goodluck sleeping when you here slam bam at 1am n the morning. Would not stay again even though the pool lookes good.

Basic hotel at reasonable price

Nothing fancy but fine for a two day stay when the goal is to be out and about. Only problem was WiFi -- constantly dropped and slow when connected.

Even though rates are cheap, NOT worth the money!

Stay was not horrific but definitely will not be staying here again. The few staff members that we had interactions with were very rude. The room was average, no mini fridge. There was hair that was not ours in the shower upon check in. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the outdoor pool. We were told the pool closed at 10pm and the closing time was not enforced by hotel staff. There were people screaming and carrying on keeping us up until nearly midnight. That, combined with the paper thin walls and uncomfortable bed, resulted in a horrible nights sleep. Breakfast the next morning consisted of stale cereal, stale bread, stale bagels, among other "food" that, being vegan and aware of our health, we were unable to eat. As cheap as this hotel was, it was still not worth the money. The only positive thing I have to say about the hotel is that it is in a great location. Close to colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.

Mediocore

This motel is basically what you should expect for it's (cheap# price. Basically, you get what you pay for. Upon entering, staff was pleasant and the lobby updated. Once you head into your room, those updates are no longer. The room was pretty clean #had a bit of a smell to it# but at least 20 years outdated. No refrigerator, which was a big deal for us #my mistake for not double checking before I booked, but honestly this was the only hotel with rooms available the night we stayed in Williamsburg, so beggars can't be choosers, right?# The worst part about the room, in my humble opinion, was the bed. It was a cheap mattress. And it was old and hard. It probably should have been replaced 2-3 years ago. Shower water pressure was decent and there was both an outdoor and indoor pool. The indoor pool was also accompanied by a hot tub. The complimentary continental breakfast was your standard bread and pastry #wheat-belly# options with some over-cooked eggs and under-cooked bacon. This is not a complaint, per say, this is your standard continental breakfast and this hotel is just following suit. Hence, why a refrigerator is so important to our travels #to store our healthy food.) All in all, I feel I basically got what I paid for, minus the outdated and overused bed.

Quick, comfy stay.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel three times over the past year. 5/13, 3/14 & this trip 6/14. The positives first. GREAT location! just minutes from many restaurants, shops, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Busch Gardens and about one hour from VA Beach. Each stay our room has been very clean. Check in and out is always fast ( we usually book online) and desk staff has always been friendly and informative. The free breakfast is nothing extraordinary but has all you need to get your day off to a great start and the attendants make sure everything is refilled when low. There is an indoor pool but water temp must stay cold until July, be prepared! The negatives. The air conditioning units are old and are hit and miss. This visit was not a problem because the A/C did work. This is a great hotel for a comfortable rest near all attractions. A great value.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Going to Colonial Williamsburg or Jamestown for the day? Pack a picnic lunch with iced down drinks. Sandwich shops charge $8+ for a sandwich and $2+ for a water. Restaurants meals seem to range from $15-25 per person.

Great hotel accommodations without breaking the bank

Hotel right in Williamsburg, nice, clean, individual AC/heat unit. Comfortable/clean beds. Nice outdoor pool area and complimentary breakfast. Best hotel I've stayed in at this price point.

Problem for handicapped

The staff was nice, but I had reserved a handicapped room and upon arrival they had none available. They gave me a room on the ground floor, but with no assistance facilities. This is difficult when you can't step into the tub, etc. Also, there was no water pressure in the sink, just a slight drizzle. Forced to brush our teeth at the tub, we reported it, but it was not repaired during our stay. I have stayed here before and had no problems, but this trip just didnt come up to par. I would stay there again, but only with clear confirmations on my requests.

great value

I didn't know what to expect since we got such a great deal. When we pulled it was decorated for the holidays and looked beautiful. The front desk we're very nice and helpful. our room was clean and we had a variety of pillows. The bathroom was clean but you could see where they had fixed cracks, but still looked clean. I would come back next time in Williamsburg.

Thanksgiving Getaway

Chose this hotel for a little getaway during Thanksgiving. The hotel is great and the staff is fantastic. The clerk at the desk said the hotel just finished a full renovation and you could tell. furniture and carpets were crsip and clean. Our houskeeper the 2 mornings we were there always greeted us in the hallway with a smile. we live in Richmond and will definently stay here again in the spring when we come back for Busch Gardens.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Make sure you stop at the Outlets. Tons of stores and all the right retailers. Place has changed since the last time I shopped there. Lots of new stores.
