Weekend Getaway with stress

We stayed at the Old Cavalier hotel, It was a great distance to be at the beach but away from the crowds and partygoers to just have a relaxing time. The hotel looked amazing inside and was very period, so it looked like you were staying in a museum. But the downside was someone or there was a issue with the system, the fire alrm was pulled 3 times once at 10ish pm one at 2 am and one at 5 am.... all of which we had to wake up and vacate the hotel. That part was rather ridiculous, but to top it off the plumbing in the room was rther terrible... our showere woul go nuclear then icecold every 10 seconds. So showering was ratherdfficult.

Cavalier Coming Back

This hotel has been bought out and now things should start to get better. The history of the place is so awesome for just the kids and myself to explore the old building on the hill. It's smart to stay in the old part the pool and ghost stories are pretty cool reception area conversation. The beach was nice not a bad walk and you know the sand comes off your feet walking back. Over all a great time.

Terrible management

I have had the worst experience at the cavalier!!! The front desk supervisor and his manager needs more training in how to talk to guests!! If u want to be treated as a child and wast your money, ruined your vacation stay at cavalier where there is 0% hospitality!!

Heartless manager spoiled our getaway

We had a prepaid reservation for Friday, August 17. When we were checking in at 11 PM we asked the manger for a checkout at 1 PM because of some special circumstances. He said he could give us the late checkout but would not do it. I told him we would report the poor service, so he said he would not let us stay in our room. My wife's health is poor (I told them this), and it was a Friday night during the tourist season (no other rooms), so I called the police. The police officer tried to convince the hotel manager to let us stay, but he he would not. We tried for an hour to find another room somewhere in the area, but failed. So we were literally out on the street with nowhere to stay at midnight at a tourist destination at the height of the season! We found out from the staff that this manager frequently treats guests (and staff) poorly. The police officer felt bad that he could not help us. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL OR RISK GETTING PUT OUT ON THE STREET!

Great Location on Beach

Room was clean; however, cleaning staff did not leave enough wash cloths for four. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. I did have to pay $7.50 to park my car on the parking lot; otherwise, valet parking was available free.

Be carefull

Thought i was booking a stay at the hotel pictured in the add. The caviler on the hill is located across the steet from the pictured hotel. It may have the same address but is a much older hotel built in the 1900s. My room was very small, the tv was not working properly and issue was not resolved. The amenties listed were not at this location but at the hotel pictured . All in all this was very missleading add..

Virginia Beach vacation

This was my first time visiting Virginia Beach and the hotel had everything to offer. The restaurant food was very good, the fitness room offered a lot of good equipment and the overall service was very much to our satisfaction. I would recommend the Cavalier to family and friends.
