Terrible management

I have had the worst experience at the cavalier!!! The front desk supervisor and his manager needs more training in how to talk to guests!! If u want to be treated as a child and wast your money, ruined your vacation stay at cavalier where there is 0% hospitality!!

Mini Vaca

This was a nice experience for my family of 4, including myself. Great beach balcony view, nice pool and recreation area, and bar by the pool. Walking distance from the main strip.

Great Location on Beach

Room was clean; however, cleaning staff did not leave enough wash cloths for four. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. I did have to pay $7.50 to park my car on the parking lot; otherwise, valet parking was available free.

Heartless manager spoiled our getaway

We had a prepaid reservation for Friday, August 17. When we were checking in at 11 PM we asked the manger for a checkout at 1 PM because of some special circumstances. He said he could give us the late checkout but would not do it. I told him we would report the poor service, so he said he would not let us stay in our room. My wife's health is poor (I told them this), and it was a Friday night during the tourist season (no other rooms), so I called the police. The police officer tried to convince the hotel manager to let us stay, but he he would not. We tried for an hour to find another room somewhere in the area, but failed. So we were literally out on the street with nowhere to stay at midnight at a tourist destination at the height of the season! We found out from the staff that this manager frequently treats guests (and staff) poorly. The police officer felt bad that he could not help us. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL OR RISK GETTING PUT OUT ON THE STREET!

Be carefull

Thought i was booking a stay at the hotel pictured in the add. The caviler on the hill is located across the steet from the pictured hotel. It may have the same address but is a much older hotel built in the 1900s. My room was very small, the tv was not working properly and issue was not resolved. The amenties listed were not at this location but at the hotel pictured . All in all this was very missleading add..

Virginia Beach vacation

This was my first time visiting Virginia Beach and the hotel had everything to offer. The restaurant food was very good, the fitness room offered a lot of good equipment and the overall service was very much to our satisfaction. I would recommend the Cavalier to family and friends.

The restaurants were all very good but didn't stay open long enough on the weekend.

Perfect for what I needed

I just had one day, last minute stay. The process was easy and the pool nice. I thought I was staying in the building closest to the beach, but it was actually the older building across the street. But still beautiful!

Relaxing weekend getaway

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and I would stay again. Please note, this hotel is Not a beachfront hotel. However, it is a very short walking distance away. I only gave 3 starts because the hotel could use renovations...and it wasn't super clean. But, overall, a nice classy atmosphere, in a great location...hotel staff was helpful and pleasant.

Be careful what you are booking

There are two Cavalier hotels right across from one another. The one that we booked was built in the early 1900's and I don't think it has been updated since then. There was no AC in the lobby so we were sweating just waiting for our room. The staff at the main hotel was horrible. They did not care that I was unhappy with the room and they would not give me a refund for the room so I could find another location. The manager John told me that the hotel I was staying at was very nice. He did offer me to an upgraded room at the newer hotel for an huge extra fee and paying to park there with paying a room tax twice. The hotel is also located at the 41st block of the beach so it's away from everything that the boardwalk and the main strip has to offer. They did have a nice pool at the newer location which is the only thing that I have to say positive about the trip. The kids pool is directly in front of the bar so that's not convenient either. Save your money and stay away from this misleading hotel!

Classic Experience

Beautiful grounds, and hotel with much to offer outside of the room. Stay at this hotel for everything it has to offer, besides a place to lay you head.
