Great Holiday Weekend
The hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. I only have two minor hesitations about staying there again - 1. I wouldn't call the breakfast a "deluxe" continental - it was the very basics and not a lot of selection. It is enough to keep you satisfied for a couple hours; and 2. The air conditioning did not work all that well - The outside temperature was in the mid 70's while there so the little bit of air sufficed, but if it's going to be warmer when visiting, there could be trouble with the air not working all that well.

Perfect beach trip
My husband and I just got back from four fabulous nights at The Barclay Towers Resort Hotel. We loved our suite overlooking the boardwalk and ocean and spent many hours on the balcony people-watching. We also rented bikes and strolled along the beach and enjoyed the hotel pool and hot tub. The location was unbeatable. We parked our car on Monday and didn't move it for three days. There were many wonderful restaurants within walking distance and we tried as many as we could. The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and always had a big smile and cheerful greeting. One of the things I really appreciated was that there were a lot of grown-ups staying in this hotel. I was worried that we would end up someplace that was over-run with partying teenagers. My husband and I hope to return to this hotel again as soon as we can plan another trip. Virginia Beach is a great destination and The Barclay Towers Resort Hotel is a great place to stay.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Black Angus Restaurant was a great place for dinner. My husband and I love seafood but our favorite place to eat in Virginia Beach turned out to be a steak restaurant. Be sure to take a coupon because there are some wonderful deals in their ads.

Great room for couples
We had a great weekend stay. It was fairly convenient for us to get every where we wanted to go. The bedroom was very clean but we did notice a tissue stuck in the side of the mirror in the bathroom. The breakfast was good but it could have used a little more updating.

Great hotel
Stayed for one night to celebrate my fiancees birthday and had a great time. Right on the beach with a great view, from your personal balcony. Has a fully stocked kitchen so you can cook a full meal, also has a nice size fridge. The bed was so comfortable! I also got it at a wonderful price. One of the best hotels I have been to.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
Go to Kroger or Walmart and buy food, so you don't have to order a lot. It can get expensive and with this hotel having a fully stocked kitchen it makes it easy to cook!

Nice but noisy
We found the room to be clean and comfortable. The only complaint we had was the noise at night time. With the bedroom towards the hallway we could hear loud guest during the night (Talking, yelling, kids screaming). The bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels and linens in the room. View was great as was the staff

Time-saving tip:
Not Applicable
My wife and I have been to Va Beach both during the summer season as well as off season. We find we enjoy the off season more because of the more quite atmosphere and much less crowds and easier to get around the streets. So if you are look for quite time and romance I suggest off season visits to Va Beach. Also always ask about parking of larger vehicles. Many parking area's are best for small cars and unfriendly to larger SUV's and pickups though this wasn't a problem at the Barclay towers but is at many of the other hotels in the area.

End of summer relaxation
Great location, great staff. Rooms need updating. Large king size bed was too soft and the bathroom was clean but grout staining made it look dirty.
