Ocean Beach Club

We first arrived a few hours before check in time. We were able to pre-register and leave our luggage if we would have liked which was nice because we weren't allowed in our room until 30 min. after what check in was supposed to be. The room was very nice and we even had a view of the ocean when we thought our room was only going to be city view. House keeping forgot a few things like coffee and cream and sugar, but they were easily accessible and got them to us as soon as we asked. Happy hour was in the morning (9am-11am) with $3 mimosas, bloody mary's, and screwdrivers. We enjoyed these every morning. Overall great hotel to stay in. The staff was friendly for the most part and the amenities were what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

upon arrival staff outside very helpful, very polite very helpful. Check in was good, pleasant and polite. Suddenly got ropped into a time share presentation, which was a nightmare. The room was new facing the street. My kids told me the mattress in the pull out was very uncomfortable. Open the couch only one time. No options to park but for a $8.00 a day fee across the street during a off season had to park on the upper level, hate to see peak season. Not even a free cup of coffee offered by the house. Gym was cool with updated but limited equipment. Pool side filled up quick food at pool side expensive drinks contain no alcohol. Departing a nightmare cannot get cart for luggage and get car acrross the street.

The Ocean Beach Club is a beautiful hotel with lots of great amenities. All staff was extremely friendly but the housekeeping and parking/luggage staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Will defintely stay again if in the area. Two suggestions ... move the pool area to the side of the hotel so it gets sun all day long :) and a restaurant with a more extensive menu and longer hours would be nice.

I stayed at this resort with two of my friends for 5 days. We had an amazing stay and the hotel featured many great amenities to keep us entertained. The heated pools were great and all staff was more than friendly

Everything was great. Enjoyed the Ocean view from the pool.

We're just a vacationing senior couple, but this hotel is solidly built, very comfortable with amenities for all, and daily activities if walking along the beach isn't enough.

The place was not a real hotel it was a time share the tv was very old and the place was not clean it was nosiy no real resturant the bar was outside only it seem like teenagers were running the place. Not any real interest in service! will not stay again.

I thought I would go a little higher in my pricing at $150.00. I would have stayed at the hampton inn in VA beach for less and much better accommodations. They required a photo ID at check in, however, when I tried to check in, a person with a different name was going my room. They could not provide a receipt in my name for my accounting purposes, because they said they could not unbook the other guy. Parking was a block away and an automatic 7.00 fee, no Valet offered. The room was dated, and the bedding was old and appeared maintained poorly. The outer spread had hairs all over the cover. Upon checkout I was given the receipt with the other guy's name on it and told there was nothing they could do. No offers to attempt to capture my future business, I will not be back.

First, the value was fantastic for staying at this nice property on the ocean. I can only speak based on the time of year. Hotel was virtually empty as was entire beach community because it was out of their season. At check in, the front desk person was courteous and nice. She mentioned she was going to authorize $245 on my credit card. This concerned me because I prepaid through a third party. She said, i have no record that you paid. She said let's just get you checked in and we can worry about it in the morning. It's late, lets get you settled in. (basically brushed me off) I checked in, went to the room and dropped my stuff off. This didn't settle with me so i went to the business center pulled up my reciept and took it to the desk. The girl that had checked me in had left. She was off. This was 5-10 minutes after I checked in. I looked at my watch, it was 11:05. It all made sense, she brushed me off cause she was at the end of her shift. What I assumed was the night auditor took my reciept, looked up my information and said, "I'm sorry Mr Rhoads, I will take care of this. If for some reason I can't, I will get with the manager when they arrive in the morning to resolve it." Seemed fair to me. When I returned to the hotel the folling afternoon, I had a message on the in room phone from the Manager apologizing and that she had taken care of it. PERFECT! Next morning, I checked out and went to the desk and referenced the authorization still on my credit card. The person checking me out said, "well, that some times takes up to three busines days to release." Here is where my issue is. The card should have never been "authorized" for $245! Now MY MONEY, isn't available for 3 business days? You see my disappointment, I am sure. Additonally, this hotel did not have a dedicated business center. I had to go to a adjacent property to use the business center. All in all, this was not something that would keep me from staying at this property again there were jus some inconviences. Thank You!
