Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites : VIRGINIA BEACH - NORTH BEACH

Arrived at 4pm check-in with 3 loaders working outside the hotel to replenish the beach from Hurricane Sandy. It's 10:30pm now, and we can't sleep due to the diesel engines and back-up beepers. We were told they would finish by 9:30pm, but we're now told it could be after 2am. If you come to Va Beach in the next month, don't stay here, or just go to another town all together because they're doing this all up and down the oceanfront. If you call, they won't mention it, or they'll tell you it's not on their part of the beach, but don't believe it.

This hotel was perfect for those traveling with kids. While they had many ammenities that we could have used, we couldn't get our kids out of the 3 pools they had. Overall, a GREAT place to stay if you have children.

This hotel was perfect. It had perfect location, staff was amazing also the local food was awesome and overall a great place to have a vacation.

I loved the location in north VA beach! its a more quiet area on the strip. You are able to walk to most places or drive and park in the south end of the strip for only $5. The pools were a bit chilly in early june and there were kids in the hot tub. Drink prices at the pool were a bit pricey, about $10 per drink. Breakfast buffet was also a little pricey.($$expected on any beach vacation) The jet noise in VA beach is something you learn to live with but definitely don't get used to. I think this hotel is perfect for a family with children. If I were to return I would probably stay at this hotel again. Overall a great vacation spot!

It couldn't have been any better. The hotel is exceptionally well maintained and the staff was great. We went there for our 38th year anniversary and will definitely return.

The Hotel was excellent! The beds were plush and comfortable, especially after a long awaited break from work and school. The lay out of the room was clean and fresh. The only draw back was the young staff and housekeepers, who weren't always polite, by taking over the elevators and not letting the guest on first. But other than that, Thanks Orbitz for a hassel free experience. Will be using you in the future.

The Holiday Inn was completely renovated. The pool and beach areas were outstanding. There were also various activities for the children throughout the day. We loved being on the north end of Virginia Beach because it was more quiet and family oriented. We still walked the boardwalk to the other end where there were many activities and free entertainment at night. The room was clean and newer, but was not as fancy as one would expect for the price. We would stay there again because of the activities and pool area. It was not until the north end of the pier that the hotel pools were beach side. We alterated from beach to pool all day.

Even before check-in the trouble started!! Names misspelled and too many rooms reserved. Listening to Graham, Rita, and Kevin complaining about the fact that they renovated the hotel, but the computer system was from 1990's is not a good start to a vacation. Friendliness is not something that is prominent, said hello to numerous hotel staff with no response. Housekeeping must have been on strike, didn't come in the room for first two days. When they did, they didn't leave toilet paper or kleenex. Toilet paper was a necessity after eating the greasy food at the Square Whale!!! Three days after leaving, still dealing with the billing!!

Loved our experience so much, that we are going back this year. There is plenty activities to do whether it rains or shines. Splash Camp is awesome for kids and offers a variety of fun activites. The swimming pool is wonderful to relax. The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to assist you. best place we've ever stayed.
