Grand Summit Resort is Not So Grand
This hotel bills itself as a four star location and it is anything but. At peak arrival time, they had only one person on staff taking registration resulting in long waits. Housekeeping had to be called several times for toilet paper, for taking out and not replacing the coffee maker, for taking out napkins, etc (this was a studio apt style room) and not replacing them. The elevator (only one in our section of the hotel to serve four floors of numerous rooms) broke down. The parking attendants were sometimes more interested in talking with each other than in performing the job. On our first morning we ate breakfast in the Cabin. The wait was easily 15 minutes before we were acknowledged at our table, the food was barely luke warm, the coffee old and bitter, the table and chairs littered with crumbs and mess from previous occupants. We were there to ski and compared to other four star accomodation, this was terrible. We will never go back there and will recommend that our friends, families, and meeting planners associated with large scale bookings, chose another location.

Great Place, Outstanding Ski Access
First, a disclaimer... I paid a reasonable price for a 1 bed studio with limited amenities, and somehow ended up with a spacious one bedroom suite with a balcony, fireplace, full kitchen and great view of the mountain, so I ended up with a great bargain. But beyond that, the room was clean and well maintained, every employee we interacted with was cheerful and went above and beyond to be helpful, and the line for the gondola was truly less than 50 feet from the door of the hotel. All in all, the hotel couldn't have been better. The food at the resort was probably above average for that type of location, but it would be a shame not to visit some of the great restaurants in Park City. It's only 5-10 minutes by car, or there is an hourly shuttle, or reasonable taxi service. Skiing at the Canyons was fine (we are advanced/intermediate skiers), but nearby Deer Valley is the best resort we've ever been to (and we've been to a lot of them in the Western US and all over Europe)...from food to ski runs to leg rests on every chair to nicer bathrooms than in my house!). Park City is worth a visit also.

Black Tie Ski Rentals will come to your room, fit you for all ski equipment, and pick it up when you are done. Very comparable in price to other outfitters, too. I was very impressed with their service & ski gear.

A great ski getaway
This was everything as advertised: very convenient & a friendly staff. This had one of the best locations to the cabriolet lift(steps from the door). However, there isn't courtesy shuttle service, which creates another expense to & from the airport (at least $148.00 round trip plus tip)

Overall Excellent
We were overall very pleased but was disappointed with Doc's as we would have liked to go there more often. The stench from the cooking is horrible - you can see the blue spoke up by the lights. I started sneezing, my husband got congested and my older son refused to come into the place. They even opened the doors for a little while but it did not work. We walked by every day and it was no different.

Almost great
Everything about this property is wonderful, except the king bed. It's not that it wasn't comfortable, it was. And given our full days of skiing, we slept ok. But, everytime one of us moved, the other would be shaken awake. It was almost like one of the first generation water beds.

Canyons Grand Summit Resort
I think because we booked through a discount agency"[...]" we were placed in the worst room even thoughthe hotel was at only 24% occupancy, I asked. Our room was directly over the entrance to the parking garage which was next to the delivery dock on the back side of the hotel with a great view of the HVAC system.Cars, garbage trucks and deliveries were coming and going 24/7. The area outside our window was also themain meeting place for employees to smoke, talk andrepair their cars. Our trip was for seven nights so I am not sure why they would put us in this room as first time visitors. The hotel staff were consistently outstanding and the ski in/out was the best...but I don't ski and was in the room a good deal of the time. I would return, but would want to assure my room placement tobe appropriate for the money spent.

Beautiful Hotel but a ways to Park City
The location was great if you want to snowboard/ski The Canyons mountain, but it's a series of buses and walking to ride Park City Mountain. The hotel charged me $3 to receive a UPS from my company. I guess it does require a lot of effort to call my room and let me know I had a package. Christmas Eve buffet was good but I got violently ill after eating dinner. My wife was fine but she didn't eat the Rack of Lamb or Tuna.
