awesome visit

The Westin was a great place to stay, right on the river walk, but in a quiet yet close vicinity to all the action. Very clean rooms, great service, and a close walk to many historic locations. We took the reflections tour of all the missions. A must on your list of fun things to do. Also, visited hemispere park. Lots of fountains, greenery, and of course you have to go up the needle (72 stories high). Go to the lounge and it is free, also free to go to a wonderful dining experience, which turns one inch a minute so you can view from far above the city. Of course the food is great on the river walk, lots of variety. The Rhein steak house is really mouth watering good. We also took a ride on the horse and carriage around the city. Its so romantic in San Antonio! The Villita has nice shops and fun to walk around. The Market square is a must location to visit, with a wonderful pastry shop, and lots of Mexican goods. All and all a awesome place to visit.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Take the taxi to the hotel, it is cheaper than the shuttles. $25 dollars downtown verses $40 for the vans. Save also at the space needle at hemispere park. Go to the lounge for free verses $11 each to go to the observation level. Only a 30 foot difference.

Steve's B-Day Trip to SA Texas

We thought the Westin was a little too far off the river walk. Room was fine but bath tub did not drain properly. Asked front desk for maintenance to check it out. Never did because the next morning we showered in a half full tub of water again. Did not eat any food there but stay was just ok.

There were many places on the Riverwalk to eat that were a short distance from the hotel. The hotel breakfast was great! Also, many places to shop with a little more walking!

Comfy Hotel

We had first class service from the moment we pulled in. Although, valet was 30 a night!!!! Ouch...other than that, the location was great and the restaurant and bar downstairs were great. Also, the fitness center was a plus. Good location and lots of fun

One night stay on a college hinting trip

For the most part, everything was very good. However, concierge was nowhere to be found during the early evening. We had to wing it for dinner as a result.

the good and the really bad

the hotel itself is outstanding. the parking is a total rip off. the hotel has no garage. you have to park across the street and there is no in and out parking. you have to pay full price whenever you re-enter the garage. I went out three times one day and had to pay 15.00 each time. it seems to me that the hotel should have an agreement with the parking garage that if you pay lets say 50.00 you should have in and out privileges during your say.
