Steeped in history and celebrity, the St Anthony offers impressive surroundings and modern touches to ensure the comfort of its guests. The hotel retains many of its period features, including high ceilings and gold leaf décor. St Anthony Rooms
Creamy tones on the walls and furniture aim to soothe guests, while comfortable mattresses and 100 percent pure cotton bed linen promote a restful night's sleep. Stylish touches, including patterned drapes, tasteful artwork in gilt frames and rich wooden furniture bring elegance and warmth. Four-poster beds in nearly all rooms add to the feeling of sophistication. The hotel was built in 1909 and many rooms retain period features such as original tiling in the bathrooms. Some rooms have views of downtown San Antonio or the nearby park. Wireless Internet and televisions with premier channels (charges may apply) alongside complimentary coffee and coffeemaker make relaxing easy, while a work desk provides space for guests who have to work during their stay. The St Anthony is a great option for families or larger groups, courtesy of its rooms with two queen beds and two full-size bathrooms. Large living areas in the suites, which range from 300 to 500 sq ft, provide space to really spread out; some also offer sofa beds to accommodate extra guests. Full size bathrooms in all rooms have branded bath products to aid relaxation at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Two specialty suites are available for special stays, one being the room used by John Wayne during filming of 'The Alamo'. In-room spa treatments may be arranged and a room service menu is available (charges apply).

Great Hotel
We so enjoyed staying at the St. Anthony, It is only two blocks from the River Walk and is only 2 or 3 blocks from the downtown streetcars. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff was very cooperative and helpful.

Lovely Hotel
Only one block from the Riverwalk, this hotel was a joy. A true historic building. Price was more than perfect and service very pleasant. Looking for a great Italian meal? Just down the block - try Toscana Ristorante - absolutely wonderful! Would definitely recommend this hotel and will return at a later date. One note: it would have been nice to have the pool bar open on Sunday afternoon.

Location very nice (in the riverwalk area)!
June 6th.: I did not receive hot water. I was in a hurry to attend my conference. So, I ended up taking the shower. That morning when I complained, I found out that maintenance people were working already. Later, around 9 PM, I talked to evening receptionist. She gave me a free breakfast voucher which was nice and this person was nice. Toilet needs changing. It had lot of iron marks (Dirty look). Beds are high!

You might want to reconsider... definitely a low budget expereince
Arrived late evening. I was handed my room key that was a key to a room occupied! Both shocking for occupant and me! Night 2 -- I had not water into my shower. Was unable to shower. Night desk staff are a bit "off". Rugs are very old, dirty. bathroom, sheets, bed and towels clean... everything else needs an upgrade. Could be an amazing restored hotel...needs a lot of investment. Very surprised it carries the name of Wyndham in the state it is in.

Overall a good experience
The location was great with access to everything you'd need downtown. The hotel could stand some modernization in terms of technology- new TV and free wifi- but a very quiet and comfortable stay otherwise.

Beautiful Lobby
The lobby was beautiful but so many conventions were on all weekend that a regular guest didn't have much chance with the lobby , pool or elevators.Although age can be elegant the room needed major updated - many cracked bathroom tiles and sink and the mirrors were so old and dirty you couldn't see through them. The bed was incredible though and decent location to walk to the riverwalk. Parking expensive.

okay
The hotel was okay, location is great its two blocks from river walk. When we got there we had to request a different room because of mildew smell but front desk gave us a different room right away. But definitely for historical lovers nothing in hotel is modern!

Good Weekend Trip
My wife and I wanted to spend a weekend away in San Antonio and were not disappointed. The hotel is gorgeous and within walking distance to everything in the Riverwalk/Alamo area. The room was a bit small but would highly recommend this hotel to any couple spending a weekend in SA.
