Original features provide elegance, modern touches provide convenience

Steeped in history and celebrity, the St Anthony offers impressive surroundings and modern touches to ensure the comfort of its guests. The hotel retains many of its period features, including high ceilings and gold leaf décor. Chandeliers, grand staircases and ornate decoration show why the St Anthony has been a favorite with celebrities over the years. Guests will find a fitness centre and 24-hour business centre among its more modern amenities.

3 Reasons To Stay:
  • A historic location combined with modern technology

  • Only minutes from San Antonio's River Walk and the Alamo

St Anthony Rooms

Creamy tones on the walls and furniture aim to soothe guests, while comfortable mattresses and 100 percent pure cotton bed linen promote a restful night's sleep. Stylish touches, including patterned drapes, tasteful artwork in gilt frames and rich wooden furniture bring elegance and warmth. Four-poster beds in nearly all rooms add to the feeling of sophistication. The hotel was built in 1909 and many rooms retain period features such as original tiling in the bathrooms. Some rooms have views of downtown San Antonio or the nearby park. Wireless Internet and televisions with premier channels (charges may apply) alongside complimentary coffee and coffeemaker make relaxing easy, while a work desk provides space for guests who have to work during their stay. The St Anthony is a great option for families or larger groups, courtesy of its rooms with two queen beds and two full-size bathrooms. Large living areas in the suites, which range from 300 to 500 sq ft, provide space to really spread out; some also offer sofa beds to accommodate extra guests. Full size bathrooms in all rooms have branded bath products to aid relaxation at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Two specialty suites are available for special stays, one being the room used by John Wayne during filming of 'The Alamo'. In-room spa treatments may be arranged and a room service menu is available (charges apply).

Nice old hotel, but it was being remodeled and that wasn't mentioned when we booked. The people were great, the location very cool, but the keys didn't work (ever) and there were a couple of other issues, all minor but they added up. The room needed a small desk!

Don't think I'd go again

The location was perfect and staff was great but beds were horrible and so was the food. It's perfect for a one night stay but no longer than that.

An elderly beauty

My daughter and I had a lovely time in San Antonio and stayed at this elegant old hotel. The staff was wonderful and gracious and although under going extensive renovations, we were never inconvenienced or bothered at all. The location is great and within easy walking distance of most all the downtown sites we were interested in. My only complaint was the bed was noisy and really too soft for me to be comfortable but some people obviously like soft mushy beds. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to friends and we will stay here again. Can't wait for that roof top pool to be finished! We walked to the Central Library, the Alamo, the river walk, and the River Center Mall with ease.

Sketchy Hallways

I'm sure the hotel will be nice after the remodel. Until that time, you might want to look elsewhere. The hallways look like an asylum and the walls are thin enough to hear what's going on outside the room.

Beautiful hotel close to river walk.

We had a brief but nice stay. Only hiccup included being put in a single room when we reserved a double. Were then sent to another single until finally ending up in a double. Also, looked like they were in the middle of some repairs which meant it wasn't as 'polished'. Really close to river walk and shops. Wish we would have had time to have a drink in the lobby.
