Long weekend Vacation
Riverwalk with all its eateries & atmosphere was so easy to access from here. We returned for several short walks. Not many shops or galleries though. The adjacent River Center Mall had usual mall fare. Walked into Menger Hotel lobby near Alamo. Great place to depict by-gone era. Alamo appreciated best with audio tour headphones. The King William district (easily accessible by trolly or bus) had unique 19th century home designs and filled a 2 hour spot one day. On the way to this area we vistied the 1968 World's Fair and little village streets briefly. Beautiful southwestern products in most shops. Great 3 day impromptu trip. Hotel staff suggestions were welcomed and helped our nagivation in city. VERY friendly.Cutomer oriented. Quality lived up to upper level Marriott name.

Short walk from hotel
Riverwalk was wonderful but don't forget to go "streetside" downtown day & night also! We felt very safe, seeing patrolmen walking, biking and watching.

San Antonio River Center
A nice hotel in a great location but very expensive considering there was no refrigerator, microwave - things that are in the less expensive hotels. I find this strange in every city I visit - the "fanciest", several star hotels often have the least amount of conveniences and then they charge for parking. The $25 overnight parking charge was exorbitant and inappropropriate.

Great Stay
Our hotel stay was very pleasant. The only thing I would say was that the parking situation was a little confusing since they didn't charge me when they slipped the bill under the door and once we inserted our parking pass we weren't asked to pay anything so I'm curious to see if I get a charge on my card.

Great location
Hotel was conveniently located to great shopping, food and area attractions. The only negative was that upon checkout we owed $75 for parking. This was not a planned expense.

Great Stay Overall
Great stay overall. Service was excellent and everyone was so nice and helpful. We were there four 4 day vacation. The room is pretty standard. Nice view. I was disappointed by the mattress which was very uneven and not firm at all. The hotel is connected to the RiverCenter Mall and at one end of the River Walk. You can catch a boat tour from this area. There are plenty of restauraunts near the hotel (Fogo de Chao in connected). It is close to the Alamo and Hemisphair Park as well as the AlamoDome (walking). The only negative was that there was a concert that Saturday and it was a little too crowded and rowdy for my taste so check on this in advance. Otherwise, the pool was okay but a bit dirty.
