Red Roof Inn San Antonio Ft. Sam Houston

While we did not physically stay in the room very much,(we were on the go the whole time) I'm glad we had other plans. The room was small and the carpet was not very clean. The location was not convenient for us, but that was our fault because I wasn't sure where the locations were that we wanted to visit. The price was reasonable for what we received.

a bit more hospitality and cleaness would have been nice

This is right off the noisy interstate, and it's not near much as far as good restaurants, etc. No shopping malls around. No movie theaters around. There used to be one, Windsor Park Mall, and we went there, but it closed a year earlier. Just junk food restaurants or dives nearby.Room was just OK and it was not a deluxe continental breakfast.I also overpaid on ORBITZ by almost $ 40 a night compared to people coming in off the street. Orbitz was no help in this matter at all.

I would have to say that the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I had just come from another city in TX where I stayed in another hotel and it was like night and day. I was very impressed by the cleanliness. The only drawback was that there was no fridge and that I was hoping for a larger assortment for breakfast but it actually wasn't too bad. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and if I am in the area again I would definitely stay there because it is close to the Hwy and everything such as the fair and the Superpages Center.

Family wedding. Great price & location for our event.Clean room and attentive staff. Problem with remote not working, staff helpful in this. Quirk the bed was nice and comfortable, except we had to sleep with our heads the opposite direction, head side slightly slanting down other than that everything okay. Will stay again.

Needed muffins at breakfast. The price is good just for sleeping and going. Not to stay and relax. The yard was not clean outside. People were outside drinking beer making my stay feel like I was in a motel or appartments. Would only recommend to sleep and go otherwise would not recommend.

Pool availability in question, 2 locked gates with signs 'closed', one gate open with sign on it indicating re-opening at 3pm, at 4:30 I questioned staff who had to check with maintenance. No trash can in room. Asked for and received extra towels. Breakfast area needed work, waffle iron not properly in place, adjusted myself. Recent painting done, somewhat sloppy. Hotel location good for what was needed.

Wonderful overall experience. Great location. Fiesta Texas was the only attraction that took longer than 10 minutes to get to and that was only 20! Very curteous staff and nice, decent hotel for the price. Would def recommend to anyone looking for an affordable, decent hotel.

We traveled to San Antonio weekend of 7-24-09. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn because we have stayed at the Inns before and it was flawless. I booked a room for 2 nites. Check in fast. Check in card was already in front desk for our arrival. Room was spacious. Fridge n micro was helpful due to that we have kids and juices n milk needed to be kept cool. Ice machines were out of order by the next day, but since the fridge was in room, no big deal. Only bad part was that we did not get room service so our room was not made by the time we got back that nite we had gone out. Hotel is a bit far from downtown river walk and a bit farther for Sea World. But with the price we got n the continental breakfast we balanced out with the gas we spend. Overall it was great. You get wat you pay for. I could have stayed at the Marriot but with the economy and a family of 7. Every saved penny counts!!!

the hotel is good.But the phone not working. If you don't have cell phone it is hard to communicate with the outside world.
