Red Roof Inn San Antonio Downtown Riverwalk

Its ok for the price.. not my first choice but I have to say the staff was nice.

I liked it because it was price effective near the concert venue. But is conditioner too much to ask for, for how much we pay a night? I enjoyed the staff, they were super friendly.

This Red Roof was great, it was a good price and a short walk to the Gonzalez Conference Center. The room was modern, clean with ample space and amenities. The shower had great pressure and the air condition worked like a champ! The staff was young, vibrant and very helpful. The breakfast was relatively poor; I would encourage hotel guests to try the food fare around San Antonio instead. I would certainly stay here again, especially since they are pet friendly and have ample parking.

Even though they have remodeled rooms, I found a sink that had no working stopper and a water wasting toilet with a bad flapper. However, the room was clean, the breakfast good, and within easy walking distance to the Gonzalous Convention Center and River Walk. I would stay here again.

The hotel was very nice and really clean. The only thing we disliked was the location. It's not right on the river walk like it said but it was very close. We actually could walk there in less than ten minutes. Overall, red roof provided an very comforting stay for my wife and I.

Great location from the RiverWalk! Customer service was great! The bed were comfortable. Water pressure was amazing! The housekeeping could have been better. Overall stay was better than expected and price was very reasonable!

The surrounding area around the hotel isn't nice but it is within walking distance to the riverwalk which is nice. They charge you a daily parking fee which is ridiculous, you should be able to park for free in the hotel your staying in & there is a public parking lot right next to the hotel which charges about half of what they charge for parking. We got a great price for the quality of hotel. Very nice rooms. The free breakfast isn't great just cheap plain bagels & muffins. But overall it was a great value.

This is located with a bunch of other chains. Within walking distance was Holiday Inn, La Quinta and several others. I did not check the prices of those others, but i remembered i got a pretty good deal for this, and it is probably because the red roof is located a bit on the outskirts of downtown. Positives: - Very very friendly counter. The guy who served me was especially gregarious, and helped me with information about airport transfer, and called us a taxi for an early flight. It went without a hitch. - WiFi was adequate - Room was clean Negatives: - Breakfast was basic. Basic = cranberry/orange juice, some bread, fruits. I think the establishment has quite a lot of rooms, but the number of tables was like 3. I have no idea how 3 tables can accommodate the guests which comes down for breakfast - and that is precisely why i had to stand while eating a slice of bread. The next day, i saw the tables pretty empty, and i suspect everyone just skipped breakfast (due to variety and space) - the walk from downtown is not exactly far, but it is still a walk. Around 10 minutes. The walk seems safe enough, and lit up, but i'm not from the area, so i'm not sure if this area is a good neighbourhood. I was somewhat nervous from the walk though (i'm sure this is related to a news bulletin i watched on tv that day about some shooting in a movie theater in downtown San Antonio earlier that day) - the shower heating and cooling is pretty long. I turned the heating up, and it took 10minutes before the showerhead gave any hot water. And when it did, it gave scorching water and nearly burnt me. I'm not sure if it's only my room, but it would be prudent to check.

It will be your best choice. Good location. Good Staff. But you need to pay the parking fee.
