good hotel in a not so great neighborhood

The area wasn't the greatest but the hotel itself was really a great stay for our PAX South trip. The parking structure across the street was extremely loud on Saturday night with horn, music and yelling from about midnight till 2am. Walking distance to a lot of great food and places but i wouldn't feel safe making that walk alone at night.

Great Location and Staff

The hotel is ideally located on the river walk. Try to get a room facing the river walk, it's really worth it. Rooms facing the river walk are very nice. Everyone who we came across at the hotel was very courteous, helpful and went out of their way to make or stay great. We had a really nice time at this hotel!

Riverwalk San Antonio La Mansion

Great staff. Wonderful concierge. Beautiful river view w/ Christmas lights, watching the river taxis/barges drive by as we sat in our hotel provided bathrobes on the spacious balcony! Room was no bigger than average hotels, but 100% better ambience. Maybe thought $32.00 a night for valet parking was "heaping it on" a little.

Classic elegance

The hotel was a little like staying in a museum. The employees were super nice and helpful. (well trained). The room was large and comfortable. The car valet service was pricey however.

Perfect five night stay - great location!

Location, location, location! This hotel is in the perfect spot to enjoy numerous restaurants on the Riverwalk. We also walked to the Alamo, Ripley's museums, Market Square, and Rivercenter Mall. All hotel staff were extra helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived. Our room was quiet, even though a couple of larger groups were registered in the hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Mi Tierra Restaurant in Market Square has reasonably priced, excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. It was suggested to us by one of the bellmen.
