Holiday Inn Express SAN ANTONIO N-RIVERWALK AREA

The hotel was a good value; close but not too close to the action. The hotel was clean; the maintenance staff were great. But the front desk was manned by 50% great and 50% terrible employees who did not care, were not there, watching TV, moving their car etc. As a business owner, I would send in a secret guest who can specify those who need to be replaced.

Hotel was very clean and staff was very helpful. The only thing I did not care for was having to pay to park with the hotel, other then that was a great visit. Would stay here again.

Great walking distance. Bad Experience, elevator broken had to use stairs. walls in room dirty. staff rude. lights in restroom would go out. no control over hotel, they had to call police.

Very comfortable, everbody was nice, great free breakfast. Love the pancake machine!

Location close enough to walk downtown. Room was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly and accommidating.

At first, I was a little annoyed that I had to wait ten minutes to check in because no one was at the desk. Apparently the only attendant had to go fix the a/c in another room. However, once I was finally checked in and I saw the room, I was quickly over it. The room was huge, and I thought it was a great deal for the amount I paid. Even though the room was huge, it was really cozy and comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. I was also impressed by the fact that the person at the front desk accompanied me to my car to make sure I was safe when I went to put my parking validation card in my car late at night. The one hangup I experienced would not keep me from staying here again. I think it was a great deal in order to be staying within walking distance of the Riverwalk.

Overall, our experience at the HI Express was pleasant. We called and requested an early check in - the hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to arrive 3 hours early. We also requested a late check out, and again the staff was fully accommodating, allowing us to check out 2 hours later than normal. They then held our bags while we roamed the city. Slightly annoying however, though we are entirely grateful for the hotel's availability, we were assigned a room that upon entry, was not actually ready (beds unmade, etc). And then the following morning, room service stopped by twice because they were not aware we were staying later. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. It was worth our patience and we couldn't have asked for more flexible people. Additionally, for the price and location, this place was as good as it gets. We were smack in between of the Riverwalk/Downtown and the Marketplace.

Good clean room. The hotel is a renovated Bexar Couny Jail which was built in 1887. Renovation was done in the 60's I believe. Good service. Reasanably priced. Good location to down town San Antonio.

Simply put, AWFUL! We came back to find our van broken into. It took the staff overnight and several hours to locate a vacuum to clean up the glass. I still don't know the status of our bill. The pool and hot tub were closed. We had to pay 10 dollars to park and then get our vehicle broken into.

Went to a graduation at lackland, hung at the riverwalk had a good time. would stay there again.
