Strange room for a guest
When I checked in, I was told I had "one of their larger rooms." The room I was given as a single had a very large area. It was furnished with a large table and 6 chairs, a sitting area with 4 overstuffed chairs around a coffee table, an alcove with a small refrigerator and a large refrigerator plus coffee makers but no sink, and a king-size hide-a-bed that unfolded out from a very large couch. There was no desk and no electrical outlets near the bed or other areas. There was a continuous background compressor noise. If I had needed to stay more than the 12 hours I did, I would have demanded an ordinary room. I had a better experience when I stayed there 3 years ago. I can recommend, but look out.

Great hotel for business travel
I enjoyed the Wi-Fi, room service, and fitness center. An extra blanket would have been nice. (Spa services would have been nice, too, but they were not available.) The staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt. The room was clean and (mostly) comfortable. The closet door in my room was not hung properly, so that unless it was closed carefully, it would swing fully open, completely blocking access to the bedroom. This made packing and unpacking unnecessarily tedious. It also posed a nighttime hazard if inadvertently left open.

La Quinta is better
We check in after a long trip from Dallas go to our room and drink two bottles of water. After that we notice the fine print 5 $ label attached to the bottles. Internet is 10.00.The Breakfast buffet was 18$ and closed early the second day without any notice by the hotel staff. I had to order off the expensive hotel menu which starts at 14$ an item. Parking is 25$ a night which isn't bad . We could walk everywhere we wanted to. The River walk is literally outside the back door. The view from our room was amazing. The bed was extra comfortable. The spa located at the better Hyatt has an amazing couples massage for 240$. I would probably not stay here again. There is a La Quinta across the street. If they have free parking and Breakfast I'll be staying there or Drurry Inn next time.I don't feel like I got my moneys worth.

Nice but not extraordinary
The first impression -- the public areas on the ground floor of the hotel -- are wonderful. The rooms themselves are fine but somewhat less impressive. The room size is large enough (plenty of space for two people to navigate without running into each other) and attractive, but the bathroom tub/shower is pretty basic: overhead showerhead, for instance, rather than hand-held, which is what I'd anticipate in a 4-star hotel. One concierge we spoke with about the public transportation system knew virtually nothing; another was a gem. Overall, the experience at the hotel was fine -- probably better than fine, really -- just not extraordinary. I'd recommend the hotel, but not glowingly.

Business Trip
Over all this is a great hotel. if you have a conference at the convention center in San Antonio it is the place to stay. Easy walk to convention halls and the river walk runs thru the property. For a hotel this size I thought the restaurant was lacking. There was not a good variety of choices inside the hotel and I really did not care for the food in the restaurant. The hotel had a large well appointed work out area and I liked the express elevator to the 24 th floor.
