Nice hotel for the price

Hotel is very nice. Our kids loved it. Pool was closed as the weather was rainy and cold. Lobby is very nice. Our only complain is the distance from Alamo. It's bit far to walk. We attempted to walk to Alamo but came back after we got lost within couple blocks from the hotel. The tall white guy with glasses at the valet parking was very respectful and knows what customer service is.

convention for work

Swimming pool was not open first few days of stay Room furniture and carpet had stains. The weather was wonderful making the mile plus walk to the convention center a pleasure. The expanded Riverwalk is unique, serene and a lovely counterpoint to the tourist saturated center Riverwalk. The hotel staff was very helpfulworking around amenities that weren't working.

Retro Styling in San Antonio

Wonderful retro "tiki" themed hotel with very nice pool area. Only drawback is that it's a bit of a walk to the central core of restaurants and shops. maybe a ten or fifteen minuet stroll along the gorgeous Riverwalk We took a ghost tour and had a blast and learned some interesting facts. If you like a bit of nostalgia and not your typical chain hotel this is the place. If it was good enough for the Rolling Stones it is probably good enough for you !

week long trip with friends

The hotels location was a half mile away from the busiest part of the riverwalk, which was perfect for me, because it offered the quietness and tranquility, yet on the riverwalk. My rooms location was in a back corner reserved for people apparently wise enough to save money by bundling, but being snubbed by the hotel because they save by using an on line travel agent (very petty).

Nice room for your money

Upon arrival we were greeted by the hotel staff. The room was average but it was clean. About what you would expect for the rates. Close to the Riverwalk was a plus, however be prepared to walk or take a taxi to get to the eateries. We didn't mind walking so we enjoyed it. Would stay here again

so so stay

Parking was easy and the front desk staff credited us for free parking the entire stay. Very nice as there is no street side parking. The rooms were small but well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was tiny and had not been cleaned very well from the last visitors. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and mold/mildew was growing between the bathtub tile. We were able to switch rooms and the second was ok. The restaurant staff were horrible, bar food was ok didn't see any real menu choices.

Decent hotel, will need to use trolley

This hotel is on the River Walk but a pretty long distance from the main activity (restaurants, shops, etc.) There is a trolley stop right in front of the hotel but we had to wait 15 minutes after it pulled up because the driver went on a break. This is definitely an older hotel but it's a good value if you don't want to spend hundreds on a hotel in San Antonio.

Great getaway

We had a great family get away planned and were so excited to find this hotel for such a great deal. The rooms were wonderful, the staff was great and we loved the amenities and how close it was to the riverwalk but still very quiet and reserved. Would definitely stay here again and again.

Nice Weekend Getaway

Hotel is clean and Staff was very nice. Food options could be better but there are so many choices for restaurants it really didn't matter. Close enough to the Alamo and Riverwalk. Bathroom ceiling is really low. ...if your 6 feet tall you might fit. Overall a great place to stay!
