Nice stay
Great location. Short walk to the Market Square. The staff was friendly, bartender was great. Very relaxing stay. I will absolutely stay here the next time I'm in San Antonio. The only catch is they will charge you for parking on your final bill but you can't park anywhere downtown for free anyway

DO NOT Stay here -> they will put you in a occupied room!
I reserved 2 rooms with King bed, when we get there, the front desk staff said one of the rooms is booked as double bed room, but the confirmation email clearly indicated that it's 2 rooms both with King bed. I then asked the front desk to switch it to a King bed room, and she said she can do it. However, when we get up to the rooms, in one of the room did with a King bed, when I swipe the room card, I saw the TV is turned on, there are cloths on the bed, even an iPad on the desk!, obviously, this room has been occupied by someone else, although the guest is not in the room. The other room, which the front desk said should be a King bed room, turned out to be a double bed room. We got very upset and went down to the front desk. Another staff helped us switched to the correct rooms. However, she don't even say a "sorry" to us. So, if you don't want to run into someone's room and encounter the embarrass, or don't want to be surprise if someone swipe into your room and surprise you, do NOT stay in this hotel. Oh, they charge $10 for parking (not a day pass, just for one time use) for the guest living in t he hotel. Hey, this is not in NYC, and is not located along the river walk, they have plenty of room, they should not charge the parking.

A good place to stay in San Antonio
Overall, our experience at the Doubletree in San Antonio was good. The amenities were nothing to write home about, but they were certainly good enough for one night. However, we found the SleepNumber bed to be a bit uncomfortable and difficult to adjust to our desired comfort level. The location was excellent! We were very close to downtown San Antonio without being so close that there was a disturbing noise level, so that was one of the biggest advantages to this hotel. The staff was also extremely helpful and accommodated our every need. The hotel offers a trolley service into downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk which is excellent if you're staying multiple nights, but we only stayed one night and arrived that evening, so we were unable to take advantage of this excellent service. In the end, the price was a little steep for the quality of the furnishings, but the location, the cleanliness, and the staff made up for the price. A good overall experience!

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
If you're staying in San Antonio for multiple nights and are looking to save a couple bucks on your hotel while still being close to the downtown area, stay here. The price is a little lower, and you can take the trolley into downtown if you don't mind being back to the hotel by 10:00pm. Otherwise, you'll probably need to drive into downtown and park at a parking garage. The distance is just slightly out of walking distance.

Away from the River Walk
The Hotel was fine for the price, It is a small drive from the Riverwalk and mall. Not walkable. They do offer a shuttle but only once an hour. The staff are nice and helpful.

Not for a Weary Traveler
This hotel was okay, not great, and nothing beyond that. Check-in was a breeze, and the hotel was very nice. The design of the bedroom was trend-conscious, but the beds were probably the WORST things my spouse and I have ever slept on! They were those beds that you select how firm or soft you prefer the mattress to be, but we sunk in into the beds, even though we had ours set to maximum firmness. We both woke up with a crick in the neck and a bad back. We'll be questioning if we return any time soon.

Weekend Getaway
Our last night at hotel room was not cleaned. Came back to room early evening and found roon had not been cleaned, towels still on bathroom floor, bed not made and only trash can provided still full. Called front desk to notify of neglict, went down to front desk as well on way out to dinner and rementioned the overlook. Came back from dinner and room had still not been serviced. Went down to front desk again and then notified that there was no maid service after their shift ends at three, no one failed to mention that beforehand. Since we dealt with Orbitz and not the hotel we received no compensation other than a refund on parking. Room service also bad, trays left in hallway overnight and someone, probably staff, stepped on glassware and broke it. broken glass and trays still on floor in hallway when we checked out. Strongly do not recommend this location.
