Strategically located between the Alamo, Sea World and military bases
The Howard Johnson Inn and Suites San Antonio-Lackland/SeaWorld is a prime spot for tourists and those who support troops -- and they can be both at once -- as it is positioned directly between Lackland and Kelly Air Force Base (now KellyUSA), in close range of SeaWorld and a short drive to the Alamo in downtown San Antonio. Of the 184 guest rooms, 85 are roomy suites with full kitchens. Just ask and dishes, pots, and pans are provided to make any stay very homey. Days inn near lackland afb
This hotel is not in a nice part of town, but if you need to stay near the Air Force base it is as good as you can get. The rooms are older and a bit shabby but the staff is super nice. They were very helpful and overall it was a convenient hotel and met our needs.

Airforce Dad 2012
Close to Lackland AFB
Nice stay at this Hotel and it is close to Lackland AFB. The negative with me was that upon arrival I was told that they overbooked and I did not get the room I had requested (King Bed) and made my reservation for. I was given two queen beds and I was the only person staying in the room. The airconditioning had a minor motor noise.

The hotel was in a great location, staff was very friendly and had some maps printed out to give the customers additional information. Comfort of the room was great, they had recently replace the matresses with some Seally brand that were very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Lackland Graduation
The location of this hotel was perfect for quick access to the AFB. The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. The beds were wonderful. Breakfast was fine. The room itself needed imporvements - walls, carpet, shower, not so nice.

Basic room, clean and stratically placed near Lackland A.F.B.
The staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. Both of our rooms were clean and comforable, though these are very basic rooms with no frills (and no Kleenix!). If you are looking for a hotel close to Lackland A.F.B. this would be a great choice. The base is very easy to find from this Days Inn. We would stay in this hotel again.

We had stayed at this motel on a visit 3 years ago and I wanted the same location so this is the one I requested. We were in San Antonio for our sons USAF basic training graduation and this motel is so close to the base you can hear taps in the evening.

Son's graduation from Lackland AFB
The staff was excellent! So friendly and helpful. The room was clean when we got there and was cleaned everyday. Pool was right outside our door and was clean and relaxing. If we get to San Antonio again I'll stay there again. It was close to alot of things.

Downtown Riverwalk was definitely worth the short drive and walk around. Nice mall downtown.

Mary Ann, manager, was fantastic! very helpful with directions. Hotel needs some work. Safety bars in bathroom would be very helpful. No refrigerator in room, no cold bar in room as described in ad.

Great staff, poor quality hotel
Hotel grounds and pool were very dirty. Our sheets were never changed over 5 night stay. We were unable to access any movies and the TV had a very poor quality picture. The dresser drawers would not stay shut on top and the bottom drawers would not open. There was trash left in our hotel room from previous customers. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly although they were unable to solve any of the problems with the TV.

We toured the caverns, which are approximately 15 to 20 miles away and they were awesome. The neighborhood around the hotel is bad so travel into town for shopping and dining.

We stayed at this hotel because we were told it was across the street from Lackland Air Force Base and we thought we could walk to the AFB. You can not! The entrance is not even close so don't be fooled. The hotel smelled dirty and the carpet and couch were really gross. The bathroom was also in need of repairs and major cleaning.

The alamo Shuttle service was great. [...] the drive/owner is awesome. He was always on time and the travel fee was reasonable. $5 to the base. $35 from the airport. $25.00 downtown from our hotel. Nice guy great service.
