An okay visit

This hotel is definitely more swanky than what I am used to staying at, but I didn't think it was all that great for the hype that came with it. There was not a refrigerator or a microwave in the room. The bar is quite expensive ($15 for a glass of wine). The black swan downstairs is a club-like feel, but was overly crowded during my stay. The pool and outside deck area was very nice. The hotel also tried to charge me for an additional night when I went to check out. Overall, a mediocre stay, not all it was hyped up to be.

Enjoyed our stay

My fiancée and I enjoyed our stay. The day we arrived they had a wedding so the valet staff was not very attentive in helping us with our luggage, but we managed.

They gave me a room with two double beds instead of one king for an entire week and never moved me even after my preference was given

At least we got breakfast

We were checking in when the staff member told us that there were issues regarding house keeping and so our room wasn't ready. So they offered us free breakfast vouchers for the next day. Overall it was nice, kind of dated but clean. The room was clean and we had a view of the construction of the would be parking garage. Free parking in the the other garage that's kind of out of the way. Bring lots of cash for tips!

Good location

We went to Houston for a weekend trip to shop for my girlfriend's birthday. The Galleria hotel was pricier and the Omni looked great so we decided to try it. It beat our expectations and we wished we would have planned a longer trip. The hotel was great but only a couple miles from the mall so we didn't spend much time there. Would definitely go back. Also we joined the free select guest club so from now on we get perks at all Omni hotels.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

The Galleria is only about a 5 minute drive, and in Houston that means a lot. The hotel had nice restaurants, but the mall has so many it can easily double as the shopping and dining destination.
