Solid business travel hotel with some nice perks
South Central location, large, quiet, clean rooms, lemon water and cookies in the lobby each night after dinner and a full Starbucks make this a great place for a business traveler in South Houston. The hotel also has a nice pool and a decent gym as well as an extremely friendly and courteous concierge lounge for breakfast, snacks and desert. The only real downside is the $12.95 a day charge for internet access. Will definitely stay at this Marriott property again on next trip to Houston.

Just a few blocks East of the hotel on the Southwest Freeway access road is Lupe Tortilla - absolutely the best Beef Fajitas I (and many others I have talked to) have ever had!!

Very nice and accomodating. Shocked, however, that they don't offer free internet/wireless. They should!!

Outdated
It's not bad, bit not great. The rooms and bed are quite nice, but the bathrooms are tiny an outdated. If you're not expecting much, you won't be dissapointed, but this place is not up to par with other Renaissance hotels I've stayed at. The location is also away from downtown and you have to cross the highway to reach the shopping are and restaurants. The bar lounge is nicely done, but the the food is mediocre and slow to arrive.

Very nice in everyway.
Very nice. The only negative is the hotel is a little bit hard to find in the greenway plaza the first time. Sort of a complex area. Otherwise a super place.

Not what was anticipated
Our family was there for a mini vacation during Thanksgiving. The room was smaller than expected for Renaissance. No fridge in room, no morning paper. TV was extremely small and positioned too low to ground. It also had a lot of static/interference that affected the picture. Not much room to move around in actual room. Restaurants were closed on Friday after Thanksgiving so room service only option. There just weren't any extra special things expected from that type of hotel. Customer service was far from what I've typically received at a Renaissance Hotel; they seemed to care less that you were a patron; yet the hotel was almost empty. This was consistently true from the valet to concierge to gift shop staff.

Nice lobby, room was fine
The lobby and bar are pretty cool. The rooms are fine (like any nice chain hotel but with slightly nicer finishes.) The bed left a lot to be desired. For the price, I would expect more -- comfort, quiet, space. But the location can't be beat if you have an early morning meeting in the Greenway Plaza area.

My review of Renaissance Houston Hotel Greenway Plaza
The Renaissance Houston Hotel Greenway Plaza was very comfortable, clean and attractive. The valet staff was courteous and friendly. Room was very spacious, with a lovely view, large bathroom and closet. I ordered room service three times and each time it took hours for the tray to be retrieved even after phoning in the initial request (as per the card that was left on my tray at each meal). At one meal I had asked for an item to be omitted due to an allergy and this request was overlooked. In addition, there was a high school leadership conference taking place during my stay which made for a an extremely noisy few days. Lastly, the hotel dinning room was closed for renovations. This was a lovely hotel however I felt it was very overpriced for the inconveniences experienced.
