Nice but needs some fixing up
This motel is pretty good but needs some fixing up. The pool and hot tub looked clean and nice but we didn't use it so we really don't know. The room was big and spacous so it was easy to move around and try to get comfortable. They have a better than most hot breakfast that includes waffles, hot sausage, and scrabbled eggs along with juice, cereal, yogurt, and just about anything else you would want for a cold breakfast. They even have a manager's reception Monday to Thursday were they have a limited selection of free drinks - hope you like very cheap liquor. The location was good for us. It is about equal distance to downtown and the beach and is close to a large varitiy of restaurants and shopping. When they cleaned our room, they did a great job but for some reason they didn't clean it for 3 days in a row and we had to go ask that it be cleaned. The bed was comfortable and we got good nights sleep but the coach/hide-a-bed was broken and it made sitting on the coach to watch TV or do anything else very uncomfortable. We asked the front desk if they could do something about it and they said no. The staff was very pleasant and helpful (except for fixing the broken coach) but at times the hotel seemed understaffed and they might be able to use a little help in that area. After shopping this was about the best deal when we booked our reservation. But shop around if you are interested in saving money. I would probably recommend this place to a friend but I would certainly warn them about what to expect if I did.

Clean, comfortable room
The hotel isn't much to write home about.... but the room was very clean, smelled great... the water was hot, the beds were comfortable and I felt very safe there. The breakfast was good (they served an assortment of bagels, toast, waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, REAL scrambled eggs and sausage). I never was able to access the WIFI signal. It was working at the front of the hotel but not the back.

Horrible professionalism
I had a lot of problems with this particular hotel. First we went to check in at 3 and the room was not ready. That would have been fine if the front desk representative, Gerald, was not on the phone complaining to someone that Julo, and I know all the names, had called in. He was complaining right in front of us. Gerald then called Rolando in housekeeping to find out when the rooms would be ready. Rolando must have had broken English because Gerald was rude to Rolando and telling him that he could not understand what he was trying to say. This was happening right in from to me. Gerald then told me to wait in the lobby and he would let me know when the room was ready. As I was waiting Gerald called his wife or family member to complain about having to work. Extremely unprofessional! About 15 minutes later he said it was ready. We went up the room, 223, and there were several people still cleaning rooms. One of the ladies working in house cleaning said it would just be a few more minutes. In the mean time people from two different rooms asked for more towels. There were no towels and the dirty towels that the guest brought out were placed in the crib that was requested for our room. At this point I am frustrated and honestly grossed out. I now go into my room. It is a smoking room. I asked to have our room switched because we have a 4 month old and can smell the stale smoke. Of course that was not an option. We also never ended up with a crib at all. The next morning I went down to get a cup of coffee and Gerald was working and still complaining about having to work. He was upset that not only did have to check in people on a sold out night but that he also was going to have to check them out. I heard all of this from around the corner. I was very dissatisfied with this stay. I fully understand being short handed but the staff still needs to act professional and a business should not fall apart if one person calls in. I will be writing reviews on Yelp and where ever I can to share my experience at this Days Inn. I guest should not have to listen to the unprofessionalism of an employee of a well established company.

Family trip
The staff was excellent, very friendly & professional. Check in was a breeze because we booked ahead if time - all I needed was my license. The room was nice upon first inspection. After getting settled in, I noticed a beer bottle cap on the floor near where my daughter was playing and an open safety pin near the bed. I probably wouldn't have ever noticed these things had my daughter not been playing on the floor. I just picked them up & threw them away before she could get hold of them. The bed I slept in was not very comfortable. I have a bad back so really any bed I sleep in is uncomfortable. So I'm guessing if I didn't have issues with my back that bed would have been very comfy. Even though we were in a non-smoking room, it (the room & hallways) still smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. Breakfast the next morning was filling. Not Ihop, but very much appreciated. Overall nice experience. I will probably book again if an over night trip is required in the future.

Fell short
I was looking for more than just a place to stay for my family, somewhere we could enjoy breakfast in the morning. I've stayed at other Days Inn previously and they were nice, but the continental breakfast at this location was lacking - overall, the breakfast room was not well kept and the waffle maker did not work. We were asked to dip a cup into the batter bowl which I am certain was not sanitary. Overall, the breakfast experience made me feel as if I paid way too much for my stay.

Check in NOT Correct, Front Desk Nightmare
We were in town for a wedding that began at 3 so we chose this hotel specifically for their 2 o'clock check-in that is stated RIGHT ON THEIR WEBSITE. We spent the morning on the beach so when we arrived at 1:55 we needed to shower, unpack and leave. That's when we met Gerad at the front desk. That man could not have been more obtuse or UNHELPFUL. He tells us we're early check-in isn't til 3 and sorry nothing he can do. Over a 30 minute period we explain the 2 o'clock confirmation we had, that we have our cousin's wedding to be at, the only reason we chose this hotel was for the check-in, if he could check to see if the rooms were ready early, could he call a maid, could he call a MANAGER, can we get our money back and every time it was "I'm sorry but i can't." No manager available (as if we're supposed to believe anyone would leave THIS child in charge with not even a cell phone number to call for help is laughable), I have no way of calling a maid, the confirmation changes nothing, there's nothing that says 3 pm you'll just have to trust me, we are not affiliated with the online booking site, we are really not a part of the main hotel... Just a FRANCHISE!! He also said this was an ongoing problem and there's nothing ANYONE can do about it. The only call he DID threaten to make was to call the cops because we were "rude" and wouldn't even do that when we insisted. The only reason we got a room at 2:30 was because the maid handed him a list of clean rooms in front of us and we asked for one of those rooms. Then Gerad had the gall to say "if your room is one of these then yes"! My parents had to wait til 2:49 for THEIR room!! Needless to say we missed the ceremony and caught the reception. I have never had such horrible customer service. All he had to say was "Let me see what I can do." "Let me try to fix this for you." My husband ran into him at breakfast the next morning and said hi and Gerad never even acknowledged him! The rooms were nice and comfortable, a little pricey but it was Fathers Day weekend, and the breakfast was hot. Would have been a wonderful stay if the front desk hadn't have put such a sour taste in our mouths. Brother-in-law says they're all like that and as a traveling salesman he REFUSES to stay at this chain. These people are NOT problem solvers.
