Wyndham Garden Austin

Not bad, nothing out of the ordinary. Room was clean, didn't have many problems except for the restaurant - both mornings I ate there, I could distinctly taste some sort of chemical in both my glass of OJ and water. Couldn't tell if it was soap or what. I could not finish my water.

Hotel staff were very nice and the room was very comfortable. The location was a little off-putting. There is a side gate accessible via the feeder (or frontage) road that is closed at 10:00 PM. It would be nice if it was open 24/7.

On arrival late at night, the evening crew man kinda rub me the wrong way. But the day crew staff were all very friendly and very helpful. On my check out morning, my rental car battery went dead since I forgot to turn off the headlight the night before. I was worried being late for my seminar but the front desk ladies were quick and the gentleman they called to jump start the car was quicker than the AAA guy I called. Kudos to them. I came back to the hotel in th afternoon on my way to the airport that day after realizing I left my running shoes in the room. Same front desk ladies to the rescue, got my shoes and I did not miss my flight. My only critique was that the hallway carpet was dingy, lots of spots, not smelly though which is good. They allow pets in the hotel, so I'm guessing it's the animals fault on most of them.

We had our wedding here 4/21/13 and it started out rocky. When I arrived the coordinator wasn't there. When she did show up she had something else on her agenda... Like showing rental spaces to other folks and completely ignoring customers who'd already paid IN FULL. Guest were already arriving and NOTHING was set up. Not the center pieces, not the arch, NOTHING. After having to get a little snappy with her she finally got things moving. At this point I only had 45 minutes to get ready for my very own wedding. I ran upstairs to our room and quickly got ready and made myself have a great ceremony despite what had just happened. When it was time for the reception they started the food service 30 minutes late!! That is unacceptable to me, is this the 1st wedding you all have held??Anyways we went on to have a great reception with NO help from the Wyndham. After the reception ends I go up to the room to pay my DJ and photographer and there is $300 cash stolen out of my wallet!! My husband goes to tell the front desk with atm receipts in hand explaining what happened and they send someone to do a "key scan" Sure enough no scans in the room except room service. Not even myself (the only one with a key) could get in the room cause my key somehow got deactivated. The front desk manager Dennis was a complete jerk and didn't seem to care at all. The front desk wouldn't give us corporates number util we threatened legal action. I called the corporate number and was pretty much told immediately well there's nothing they could do. Its unreal to think someone would do this to a couple on their wedding night. Its even worse knowing we shelled out thousands of dollars at this place and they treated us like we were nothing to them. They never apologized or anything. We had atm receipts proving everything and the key scan proved it all. No was was in that room except room service!!! Please save your self the headache and DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE!!

I usually rate the comfort of a room by whether or not I have to wear flip flops to keep my feet clean. The rating is flip flops all the time, flip flops only needed in the bathroom, or flip flops not needed. This was a flip flops ALL THE TIME location.

Dirty needs updated. Very small rooms and bathroom.

Three night stay: I had read mixed reviews about this hotel. It is just out far enough not to be in the traffic zone but close enough to get to everything. Restaurant was very good for a hotel, nice small bar. Conference area was nice. The room was was everything you need great desk area for working, nice tv, a/c, bed, bathroom closets, coffee. etc. check in was easy. all in all A++. I had to double check what I had paid per night because this could have easily been a higher priced hotel. I would stay again and again!

Hotel was okay, little noisy and not as close to the Capital as advertisted.

Everything about the hotel was great it was just pretty isolated. Based on the description I thought it would be closer to the city - and attractions or places to walk outside of the premises of the hotel - but there weren't. It was a short 15 minutes drive to downtown Austin and everything else was good. Based on the name Wyndham I thought I would be getting a little bit more for my money (style of room, food options, etc) but it was great otherwise. Thanks, Wyndham

Just came up to Austin from San Antonio for just some general partying on 6th St. Booked this hotel as it seemed to have the perfect value of price, location, and comfort. This hotel exceeding every one of my expectations. Catching a cab to and from downtown was extremely easy because of the location, and the room rate definitely did not break the bank. I will continue to choose the Wyndham Garden each and every time I come back to Austin, TX.
