Get what you pay for.

I went during 2014 labor day weekend, so I assumed pricing for booking went up. I would never pay $70ish again to stay here at this Travelodge. Travelodge location was isolated from any other buildings near by. It seemed very sketchy, and I almost feared for my life. As soon as we got there, one of the staff members was shooing away possibly a homeless person. Definitely gave an awkward vibe about this location. Also does not seem children friendly. I got my room, and as I was walking towards my room, the staff member was spraying a large amount of air freshener. I didn't know if it was due to something just happened that day, or that's just how they operate. Staff customer service was average, but it seemed like they did not want to be there themselves. I got into the room, and near the bathroom seemed to look like carpeting was just put in, but it didn't look professionally done. As I was walking out of the bathroom barefoot, I stepped on a super small and super tiny rusty nail that was sticking out along the edge where the tile and carpet meet.bathroom. Thank goodness it didn't pierce skin, but it's almost as worse as stepping on a Lego piece barefoot. Bathroom sink faucet was in bad shape, and the shower curtain rod was broken and was about to fall off one side of the wall. Water pressure in the shower was adequate, but better off showering yourself with baby wipes. All other things such as furniture, shampoo, coffee maker, etc. I did not really care for. It seemed clean, so that was a plus. I paid money only to go there to rest for one night, and go about my business the next day. With my stay here at Travelodge, I would gladly pay an extra $100 to stay at a nicer place. I thought I would try and save my money, but it doesn't seem worth it. So if you're looking for a cheap booking, and don't care about the conditions of the rooms/staff, then by all means, book at Travelodge Austin.

Cheapest Thing I could find

For the price it was what I should've expected, but that's it. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for anything other than a place to sleep.

Gross

Do not stay here. Room wasn't clean. Dead bugs and even found an old used syringe next to the couch. Would not recommend it.

Gross!!!!

Nasty place!! The woman at the front desk handed me a pen that was full of smile with whatever she was eating. Reserved a non-smoking room and the room and the entire building smelt like an nasty ashtray. I went to bring this to the attention of the front desk and the woman was completely rude and dismissive. Doesn't matter how cheap the rate is, this place isn't worth it.

OK but inexpensive

An average hotel stay - not bad, not terrific, but hard to beat the price for the location. AC was very noisy but surprisely did not keep me awake. TV channels somewhat limited but I wasn't there long enough to watch much anyway. I would probably stay there again if I just needed a place to sleep in central Austin.

Good Price, but you do get what you paid for.

Hotel was fairly cheap money wise and is literally bout 5-10 minutes from Downtown Austin. Only downside is the Staff, and the Continental Breakfast. Staff were not friendly at times, and the breakfast was laughable.
