Charm and convenience in downtown Austin with indoor and outdoor pools

Smack in the heart of downtown Austin, the location of the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol is enough to lure visitors. Sheraton Austin is Superb

The best hotel experience of my life - and I have traveled the world. Clean, well maintained and attractive. The staff was spectacular. Every member of the staff was courteous and helpful, they felt like very warm and kind friends.

An overnight to Austin

A very comfortable nights sleep and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The beds were very comfortable. We were on 5th floor and no view to speak of, but quiet and that worked great for us,

Satisfied Stay

Pros: Good hotel, walking distance from Sixth street. Rooms were good and clean and staff were courteous. Cons: Room service takes forever, about an hour and a half after you order!! You have to pay for parking but that is expected from any downtown hotel. Also rooms are lacking refrigerators and microwaves.

NIce experience, only beds need improvements

I liked the hotel, the location, the lighting, the gym and the indoor/outdoor pool. The only thing we (4 of us) criticized is that the the pillows were so very soft. Besides the sheets were small and were all over the place and the whole night experience was therefore kind of off for my husband and me. The rest was nice though and I would stay here again but would bring my own pillow :-))

Great Location but Dated

Location was great but the hotel itself is dated. I was also disappointed the pool was not filled. It seems like they were doing maintenance on the facility.

Red River is around the corner and full of music venues - this hotel is great if you plan to have a few drinks because you don't need to drive back to your room.

Pleasant good stay.

One thing which really decreased the rating. Staff doesn't knock the door just tries to enter the room. When you are naked it is hardly pleasant to run at the door and slam it so cleaning lady doesn't see you. The place is clean, however, huge roach was running all over the place. No big deal, because I don't care that much about a single bug, but many people dislike it and well... roaches are not the most clean species.

Great Location

We enjoyed our time at the Sheraton but the pool was being drained and so we missed out on this important amenity. I like the staff and "green apples" provided at the check-in desk.

Good, but not worth the money

I feel like I over-paid. Parking was pricey, the room service was ridiculously expensive, and I really hate paying to use the internet especially if my bill is $600+ when I check out. The lobby was impressive, but the further you get into the hotel, the less nice it looks. Not bad overall, but way to expensive for what you get.

Downgrade

Sheraton Austin needs to recognize the competition from the 3+ star motels. Their $14 compared to 3+ complementary b'fast. / 3+ provide free w'less internet, 3+ staff are proactively friendliy. CRAZY-> Sheraton A town have hardwood chairs on their patios, and outside the restaurant, BUT they don't put out the cushions, even on Memorial Day! Ever sat down hard and had difficulty getting up?
