Kind of Disappointed...
Stayed here on business, I loved the location of the hotel and the staff at the check in where nice, but the housecleaning staff really disappointed. They didn't clean the coffee maker, I spilled some coffee grounds on the floor and they didn't bother to clean vacuum it up, they kept forgetting to replenish items (didn't leave me coffee cups, conditioner, etc. after they were used up). My AC was broken on arrival, took them 2 days to fix, and I was very uncomfortable those first two days. I would stay here again and give it another chance, but it was extremely disappointing since all the reviews were mostly positive for this place.

Graduation Weekend
Great! I booked for 2 nights. A little ways from the UT campus, but it was better to avoid the congession and rowdy guests at the hotels downtown. My parents stayed in the room the first night, I shared the room with a friend the second night. I called ahead, because my parents were going to arrive before me, the rooms were pre-paid and I didnt want them to be asked for a credit card. The person I talked to on the phone was being very difficult, saying that I needed to be there at check-in . . . I finally got annoyed and hung-up. Maybe she felt bad, because when my parents arrived, about an hour after my call, there was no problem. They had the confirmation information and they were given a key. I provided my credit card for incidentals when I arrived a few hours later. I asked the front desk to spread fresh linens between nights and they did! Very nice hotel overall. I literally only slept there for about 5 hours, so I didn't use the amenities. They seem to have lots of options for in hotel dining and surrounding area. The valet staff was cool with me using the front as a loading and unloading zone - harassment free. Room was a little stuffy, like it might have been a smoking room, once upon a time. Updated TV, chair with ottoman and 2 double beds. I would stay again!

Comfort and Value
My one night stay at the hotel was a very nice one and an exception value. Except for the knock on my door at 8.30am, I would recommend this hotel

Very accomodating during time of need
Our entire neighborhood was evacuated due to fire and the Renaisance Hotel was very welcoming and accommodating to the residents who sought shelter there. They waved the pet deposit fee so that those stranded with their pets wouldn't be burdened with additional expenses. They also checked people in swiftly and did their best to serve us, despite the fact that they were not staffed for a full house. They were awesome and I couldn't have felt more welcome!!

I was very happy with all aspects of this hotel. The staff was competent and friendly, the location was accessable. The room was clean and comfortable. My wife and I were in town for her girlfriends birthday so it was our refuge post party.

Great Weekend Escape
A great experience from the moment I pulled my car up. Helpful staff that went beyond for my husband and I. I called room service at 1am with a odd request. My husband and I had been outside in the 100 degree weather for most of the day and returned very late to the hotel. My husband was getting very bad leg cramps from dehydration. I called room service and asked if they had a banana we could have sent up. A few moments later a gentleman knocked on the door and handed me a plate with two bananas. I asked if he needed me to sign anything. He smiled and said " no ma'am, I took care of it". I was expecting a $4 banana. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel, great value, great stay
This Renaissance was one of the top rated hotels in the Austin area. The location couldn't have been better. There are so many great restaurants and shops within 5 minutes or less of the renaissance, you are sure to find something you will like. The Oasis is about 15-17 minutes away, 6th street is about the same distance in the opposite direction. It had been years since my last trip to Austin but the next time I visit I will definitely stay at this hotel. The hotel was beautiful, the room spacious clean and well appointed. Aveda products in the bathroom and a great tv in the bedroom. The couldn't be beat. I highly recommend staying here.

It's about a $20-$25 cab ride to sixth street. If you are going to drink, take a cab.
