Relatively convenient to downtown
The Red Roof Inn Austin North is a good no frills hotel. The rooms were clean. The Mexican restaurant attached next to the hotel is okay, but nothing special. The hotel is pretty close to downtown.

Friendly
This Inn on I-35 North was easily accessed. It has a nice pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were in town to visit a doctor so we can't tell you about the nearby attractions. The room was cool when we arrived, so it didn't have that funny odor that some motels have when you first turn on the air conditioning. It was very comfortable.

decent clean room
Hotel was as expected and adequate. My husband was disappointed that there was no free internet as we have stayed in other similar quality hotels and they have offered this. Staff at the reception desk were not welcoming. I had to wait for another person to check in and not once did the person behind the desk acknowledge that I was there. I would have expected a " be right with you" or something to that effect.

Lost in Austin
The staff at the hotel was very friendly, but, we picked a weekend when there were a lot of kids there on spring break, and they ran up and down the landing all night. We also missed the driveway to turn into the hotel, and got lost in a part of Austin where you don't want to be lost..

Red Roof Inn, Austin
It was a room to sleep in. No frills, nothing special, old mattresses, but that is what you get when you don't have a lot of money and you are working poor. Too bad.
