Good value
The hotel is clean and functional, the staff are very pleasant, and there is free wi-fi. Being at the junction of two huge highways, there is traffic day and night, but the rooms are sound-insulated and one's nights are peaceful. The breakfasts are definitely ho-hum but the price is excellent. I did my booking through an online travel site.

Under Renovation Construction...
We did OK here based on the circumstances of the hotel being under renovation construction. I admire the staff for keeping it together under these working conditions.

La Quinta good value
I was most satisfied with the size and quality of my room. My only negative was having my room lock fail, and having to hang around for a whole hour while the technician tried to fix it. It was not until I suggested he replace the whole unit that he went off to find one. I was late for an appointment as a result. Not good enough.

Convenient, Clean & Comfortable
Traveled all over town showing my familiy Austin and local haunts. The hotel is a little aged, but nice just the same. I would happily stay there again.

Great escape
The pool was fantastic, warm, 9 feet deep, and usually empty. Apparently most travelers here are just passing through. The staff were very friendly and the room clean and comfortable. The internet was so slow we gave up. Would have been nice to have an Austin map, they had San Marcos and San Antonio. Minor repair issues. Ice machine on our floor down a few hours, one of two computers in the lobby didn't work, printer not connected to the one that did work. So when I tried to get tour info I had to write it all out. I could not get tour reservation kiosk to work but that may be my fault.

Exit #240 from I-35 (if you are going either direction) and cut back south at the second light if you are going north. Hotel a little hard to get to until we asked and were given this info. It is located immediately south of the highway intersection. Worth looking for though.

We were in Austin for our daughter's wedding in Dripping Springs, TX. Good things: we enjoyed the managers reception on Wed. and Thurs. night. La Quinta was gracious enough to hold rooms for our wedding guests up until 3 wks before the wedding. I was disappointed that there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room, since they were listed on my reservation. It would have been nice since we were there for 5 days. All in all- it was fine but not exceptional.

Sugar Land
Disappointed!
I made reservation for non smoking room because I have kids, and I am not a smoking person, but when I arrived there about 8:30 pm, and no one at the frontdesk, so I waited for about 10 mins. After that someone appeared and gave me the key when I got in and my kids were tired they fell at sleep right away, but I couldn't sleep because of the smell of the smoking. But I didn't have time to ask for changing room because it was too late. So disappointed.

Nice hotel
Our room faced the highway, but we didn't hear any street noise. The staff were helpful. The fitness room is minimal, but functional - we used it every morning. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent, as those things go. I clicked 3 on "Dining Options," but I'm not sure if they meant within the hotel (there aren't any) are in the general area.
