Color Run Hotel Booking
My best friend and I came to Austin for our first 5k. The hotel smelled like smoke and the front desk attendent from 5/4 was eating while he was checking us out. As a former concierge for a 5 star / 5 diamond hunting lodge, I was a little disturbed at the lack of training. Overall, it was okay but I will book somewhere else next time.

Cheap is the word
I booked this hotel online for $50 a night for a king sized bed in a room with a fridge and microwave. Sounds like a great deal. Well I reserved a non-smoking room. They had me in a smoking room and did not have anything else available. As a recovering smoker, this is not good. The clock/radio/alarm was unplugged when I came in. I plugged it in and set the correct time as I had an early meeting the next day. I looked at it after about 15 minutes and it had advanced an hour. I reset it and then 15 minutes later it was flashing 12 noon. The outlet was fine, as I tested it with a lamp. The bathroom fan would not turn on and the bathroom had a slight sewer gas smell. The shower would not even get warm, much less hot. I tried at 7 in the morning and again at 5 in the afternoon when there were very few cars no warmth to the water either day. Day two the toilet wouldn't stop running after I flushed it. When reported to the desk, they asked if I had fiddled with it. They could not fix the toilet, so shut off the water and had me move my belongings to another room on the smoking floor. The hallways were not smokey, but smelled strongly of smoke. The new room was slightly better as the fan in the bathroom worked and the water became luke warm instead or remaining cold. The AC worked, but was very noisy.

The Whip In is not worth the hype unless you just want to buy exotic overpriced beers and wines.

not that bad
It is good for a night or two stay. Room was clean. There weren't aggressive homeless people like other reviewers claim. It wasn't that bad. People need to chill when reviewing. You get what you pay for.

could be worse
The staff was nice and helpful and there was always someone manning the desk from what I could tell. The room cleanliness and overall maintenance left a lot to be desired with stains on the lampshade and bathroom walls to an exposed lightbulb in the bathroom. The empty pool was an eyesore. The ice bucket in the room was dirty. There was a vending machine but no bottled water to be found. Luckily there is a convenience store next to the parking lot. Overall the hotel was located close enough to downtown, 6th street, and UT. The price was reasonable enough to overlook the rest as long as you are just looking for somewhere to sleep and keep your stuff while you are elsewhere.

Lacking a lot!
Hotel is run down and smells weird! Tiles were falling off the wall and loose on the floor in the bathroom. Oh and our friends had a roach crawl across their bed! Be careful if you have to stay there!
