Not the best Hotel in Austin

Pro: 10-15 minute drive to downtown Austin Con:The room was not very clean. We had an issue with the toilet on the very first day. Blinds seemed to have been ripped and the beds were not that comfortable. Breakfast was minimal, only cereal and a few cold bagels were left out. I would not recommend the hotel at its current price point

room key didnt work

They staff member re-swiped the room card 4 times before he would come up and try it himself...the door batteries were dead. I waited in the hotel lobby for two hours for maintenence to show up. They were stoned and could barely function. Four different hotel employees told me the manager would talk to me and compensate me somehow...I never got a word from him. Very disturbing to realize if the room was on fire or my child was stuck in there that the hotel staff have no key to get in the room because they claim the manager took the key home. The same manager that never spoke to me or acknowledged me. Very frustrating experience. Maintenance used scotch tape to fix the lock!

Disappointing

I expected a decent clean room with an average comfortable bed. Instead I was told that the only rooms available were smoking rooms when I had specifically reserved a non smoking room a week in advance. Our room of course smelled bad had very old furniture in it. Our bed not only had the springs digging into our back but had holes in the bedding as well. As I reached over to the alarm clock i was greeted by a nice used dirty bandage left perhaps as a gift by previous guests. The restroom altho clean, only had a single bar of soap in it. The only positive thing I could say about this place is that the staff was very friendly. Never the less it will not be enough for me to stay here again unless significant remodeling is made along with improved cleanliness.

You get what yoy pay for

I'm relocating to Texas and stayed at this hotel while I look for a home in the future. The rooms are very small but ok for the price. Location was ok. I've stayed at many hotels and this one was just average.

Satisfactory, Request NON-Highway side

Room had peeling wallpaper, window was covered in some crud so the vacation to warm weather was thwarted by terrible view. Otherwise room was OK. We had incredible difficulty trying to get a Taxi (spent over two hours on the phone) and the hotel was not willing to help us at all. We asked the front desk to call a Taxi or offer a number and they said they could only try the 800 number they gave us which was to a recording!!

Not the best

The room I was given when I arrived was pretty poor- noisy, tacky, bad state of repair. no sleep the first night because of the noise so I moved first thing ( I had thought about leaving. On my return that night I discovered the same problem- locked open window so traffic noise, plus smell of cigarette smoke. I asked for a different room and was given a clean, bright, well decorated double room on the second floor where there was no smoking. This receptionist was very helpful. What a difference. I would recommend the hotel on the basis of this room but strongly disuade anyone from going there based on my first nights experience. My other comment was that the rooms went from $39 up so this was not a particular bargain. Some of hte staff were excellent and others were most unwelcoming.

Bed Bugs!!!!!

The hotel staff was so nice. Friendly and helpful. Really, the trip and the stay there went off without a hitch until the morning we were leaving....I and my friend realized that we were itchy. Turns out we got bedbugs from the hotel room! Also, we invited a few friends to the room for a bit and THEY HAVE BED BUG BITES ON THEM TOO! and after only being there a half hour or so. Not good.

This was the WORST hotel

This hotel was horrible. Had I not gotten it as part of a "package", I would have left after being there 5 minutes. The first room I was given had MOLD growing on the air conditioner vent. I was then given keys to 3 other rooms and told to "pick one out". I settled on the less of 3 evils. This hotel was suppose to have been recently "remodeled", yet the carpet was coming apart at the seams, the wallpaper was coming off the walls and there were tiles missing on the bathroom floor. I was all ready to settle in to take a bath, and the water pressure was so low that after 20 minutes there wasn't more than 2 inches of water in the tub... Oh, and I had to use a plastic bag for a stopper because there wasn't one in the room. I asked where I could get some dinner one night and was directed to a Denny's.... All in all, a very disappointing experience.

Nor Impressed At All

We booked the hotel as it apparantley had recently been remodeled. Apon arriving and walking down the 1st floor hallway all I could smell was cigerette smoke. When I got to my room 205 on the second floor and opened the door the smell was of a of very damp musky smelling room. I opened the windows to try to clear it without success. It was so bad I left the A/C switched off on the second night. And the daytime temp there had been 105 degrees. Aftre walking around the room for some time in socks they were really ditry. The wall paper was peeling off the bathroom wall. All the electrical sockets were very loose in there fittings. Overall I would say that this is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had tralling the world.
