Gave wrong room cardkeys - and didn't seem to care
I was going to write a longer review, but all you need to know is the staff handed me room keys to a completely different room. When I brought the keys back, they didn't seem to think it was a big deal. As if potentially getting beat up or shot for barging into the wrong room a problem for the staff... Plus I had to go downstairs to ask the front desk staff a question -- I tried ringing them for over 10 minutes.

Decent hotel, need GPS to get there.
Hampton Inn locations are typically very similar, so as far as the hotel goes, it was excellent for the price as always. Though, this location was somewhat quirky to reach. If I didn't bring my GPS on my trip out here, I would have had tons of trouble finding the hotel. It's located on a one way street, and if you're coming from downtown Austin, you have a somewhat complex route to get back here.

Roadwork Disaster
The hotel was fine but there was so much road construction going on on Interstate 35 that access to the hotel was difficult - at best. I finally checked out prior to the third night because I was not sure that I would be able to get onto the correct road the morning I was leaving. I rated the hotel (see below) as good or better in all categories but I would not recommend it because of the road construction! When the road work is completed I would stay there again.

Great location
I have been to the same hotel for three business trips. I will stay there each time I go to Austin for this particular business. It is easy to get to and leave from. The breakfast is very good. . .different each day of the week! Reasonable price, too

Very Clean Hotel
Very clean hotel. The fresh baked cookies in the evening were wonderful to smell and eat on a cold rainy night.

Hampton Inn, Southpark, Austin TX
Good. After I checked into my room, I noticed there wasn't a fridge. I called the front desk to ask if there were any other rooms with one, and they brought a fridge up to my room. That was cool! Never had that happen before. Very accommodating.

Our Austin trip
Afer arriving and surveying the hotel, I thought the price was too high for that facility. Also, after booking, our plans changed unexpectedly. The hotel was VERY inflexible about the no cancellation/no refund policy. Yes, it's stated in the confirmation, but everyone has to change plans from time to time...if not a refund, then maybe a credit for another visit at a later date ? The pool was very nice, but the breakfast room was noisy and cluttered...guess you have to expect that in the summer with folks traveling with their kids. All in all, I would only give this trip an "okay".
