Extended Stay America Austin - Downtown - 6th St.

Great location in between East and West 6th. Hotel smelled like smoke, but room was okay. We didn't have room service the entire time we were staying here - 3 days. Not sure if that's standard or not. If you aren't planning on staying in during your visit, would recommend this place for the location.

Great location for walking downtown Austin. Room is pretty basic, no frills. But a good value for the money.

Hotel couldn't have been more centrally located to the areas we wanted to visit. 6th street, 2ns street district, te capital, town lake and walking trails. The staff was very friendly and included free parking and breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a good location for a total Sixth Street experience on a budget. It is within easy walking distance to many of the downtown party locations. The facility is average, fairly clean and comfortable for an older venue. Nothing fancy but the kichenette is a nice benefit if you plan to do any food prep. The free parking is a nice perk. Be advised that Sixth Street is like a small Bourbon Street for college kids and the noise factor must be accepted. Ask for an off street room if you wish more quiet.

Great location however got stuck in a handicap room with a shower head that didnt work and only had cold water.

Good location to take in nightlife on 6th St. It's not a resort so there are no special amenities like workout facilities or a pool. However, the room was clean (despite some ants in the bathroom) and comfortable and the staff is friendly. The walls and floor are not soundproof so you may hear those next door or above.

The location is great, it's at the heart of Austin. Wished it was more comfortable as to sound, but maybe some other time I"ll get a higher floor.

While this hotel is certainly not the lap of luxury, it ranks very high in the efficiency and value departments. I booked this hotel because I wanted a great price right on or near the 6th Street strip. Not only is this hotel situated right near the strip, it also offers free parking which is huge. The front desk service is pretty bad because the help is very limited, even on the holiday weekend I was there (Memorial Day weekend) they only had one person at the desk and she was even handling the phones. However, I eventually got my key and entered my one room efficiency. The kitchen was clean but the bed had some crumbs on the comforter (which was not the nice fluffy down comforters but rather the polyester berr chicka berr retro 70's style comforter). The bathroom was clean and provided shampoo. Since I was only staying 3 nights, I did not receive any cleaning service which was fine because I'm generally clean and could fend for myself. There was a sufficient amount of cable channels and it was nice to have a refrigerator and stove to make breakfast. However, there were many students staying there and they were extremely noisy (thin walls) at all hours of the night. I think that's to be expected for an affordable hotel in a great location on a holiday weekend, so I could definitely overlook the minor inconvenience. I also loved the free wifi. Overall, this is more of a hit than a miss. I highly recommend if you're looking for affordable, convenient lodging without the frills. You can't beat the free parking and wifi either.
