Family Visit to Austin

Every aspect of our stay went well from the courteous staff at check-in to the polite wait staff in the restaurant. Loved the complementary cookies too. We decided to stay one more day and the staff at the front desk made our change in plans very easy and plesent. A very nice restaurant and bar was also within walking distance. I appreciated the free self parking. I would be happy to return to the Double Tree in Austin.

Good Hotel.. Not the Best

The location isn't exactly easy to get to and while it was updated over time, it was rather loud at times.

City Visit

The hotel was in a good location. It was a nice looking hotel, my room was clean, updated and the bed was comfortable. The sheets were very comfortable soft yet crisp. The hotel cafe served a very good breakfast,so to my liking I ate breakfast there twice. There was a nice courtyard and very nice pool area. Overall very happy with my stay!

Oldy but a goody

The hotel has obviously been there a while. You have to pay for parking. The beds are nice which is pretty much the most important for us. There are some nice details (woodwork, tile, porch, yummy cookie at check-in), but some stuff is so old and unmaintained that it is ultimately a turnoff. The pool and interior courtyard are very nice. We would not mind coming back if we have a deal again, but if no price deal we will not be back.

Good Hotel for Business Trips

The hotel was nice overall. The bathtub was small and there wasn't a refrigerator in the room. I don't like hotels that you are required to park in the parking garage, but they did waive the daily fees (typically $10 day). Also they were remodeling some of the rooms and started hammering at 7 a.m. I had to fax and refax documents, and the staff was very helpful.

Pleasant Suprise

We arrived around 12:30 pm at the hotel and were glad our room was already available. It was great to be able to get things unpacked before going off to sightsee in Austin. Even better, we were given free breakfast coupons for the next morning. Everything we experienced was great. Staff were friendly and helpful; parking was free; food was excellent; hotel was quiet;the room very comfortable; and love those Doubletree cookies!

For fun and great Italian food, try Mandola's Italian Market at 4700 Guadalupe. Great food and a fun lively place.
