basic hotel with nice bath

the best thing about the hotel was the bathroom, with a deep tub and shower that came from overhead shower fixture. the bed was good and everything else was ordinary except walls could use some paint

Casulo Hotel stay

Stayed overnight after a concert. Checked in early and came back to the hotel late. The room was very nice. Did not interact with any staff other than check in and check out and they were very pleasant. Great shower! but strange window location. Would have been strange if children or other guests were there. Restaurant was being remodeled so we did not get to enjoy breakfast there.

Enjoyable stay

We had the Jacuzzi Suite with a freestanding French bathtub for two. This and the Sealy True Foam mattress made this hotel stay one of the most comfortable we have ever had. The room was otherwise ok, glass panel shower wasn't completely connected to the wall and the air-conditioner in the room was single-unit (not central air). Complimentary breakfast was ok, fresh fruit and bagels/pastries/muffins, in serious need of protein options. We were in town for a graduation and ended up late checking out, the staff were very accommodating and didn't give us a hard time about it.

Perfect for my needs

I needed a hotel close to downtown without downtown prices or daily valet charges. I was 3 miles (5 minutes in traffic) away from my destination and my room was better than most higher priced hotels I've stayed at in several major cities. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make my stay pleasant. The room was super clean and comfortable. I'm a breakfast person, so having even a light breakfast - cereal, fruit, begals, etc - complimentary is great. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends coming to Austin with business in or near downtown.

Check in was great, fabulous gentleman greeted me was quick and helpful. Clean rooms, easy access to every thing. Right off the high way. It was to cool to swim but pool and hot tub looked like they needed to be filtered. Everything else was great!

Not a 4-star hotel by ANY means

This was advertised as a 4-star boutique hotel, so I assumed I was getting a great deal. The pictures on-line looked great. However, the property is run down with shoddy repairs, the staff have no clue about customer service and professionalism, and other than the cool shower, there is nothing special about this hotel. I travel a lot for business, so trust me when I say you are much better served overall by a Courtyard or Garden Inn. If it weren't for the fact that I needed to be close to the airport and I only needed a clean room to sleep in for a few hours, I would have moved hotels.

Needs attention to details

Check in was slow, once in our no smoking room, we found a cup full of cigarette butts and broken glass on the balcony. It was quickly cleaned up, but I stepped on a piece of broken glass in the room the next day. Walls and ceiling need attention to, sheetrock and paint needs to be touched up. Saturday night the bar was closed because the bartender "worked for tips" and no one was asking for drinks so they closed up early....beautiful chandelier in the main room was not turned on because the light bulbs were burned out.... Room was a great size, bed was comfortable. We had a corner room with lots of nice windows and light.
