Not so nifty at the thrifty
NIGHTMARE!!! Feces stain on our "clean" sheets. Room was beyond dated like the Brady Bunch era. The location and value are the only positives I can speak of and the area itself is a bit scary just convieniently located near interstate. The foreign staff was a nightmare. Bombarded in our room without knocking more than once. Was NOT friendly. Lobby smelled of stale urine. Requested a late checkout the night before departure and was told by the night (english speaking) staff that it was no problem. Come time for checkout they barged in on us shouting at us to get out NOW! Mind you they had maybe 5 cars total there, not like they were busy. As i tried to explain the phone call and late checkout she got on her walkie talkie and started screaming in her language and then a man, maybe the owner, came in and threatened to call the cops if we didnt leave now. This was uncalled for and I did nothing to provoke such. Also the noise level there was horrendous. Close to the airport and sounded like planes were gonna hit your room and some metal plate that people kept running over was loud along with rolling suitcases. This was possibly the worst experience ever and Id rather pay more and stay where im treated like a human, not a menace to society!!! Seriously....DONT STAY HERE EVER!!! They need to be shut down and learn some customer service. Disgusted!!!

Very Poor Management
I usually travel to the flea market in Nashville in October and like to find a clean, cheap place basically to sleep and shower while we are there. I had stayed at this place many times when it was the Pear Tree Inn and was very happy with it. I think this is the 2nd time I have stayed at in since it was the Thrifty Inn, the last time being 2-3 years ago and then this past weekend. When we checked in, we had to pay for our entire stay at that time. I had planned to stay 2 nights and was charged for both nights up front and given a small credit card receipt. My parents were there for one night and also paid when they checked in. When they checked out the next morning they were given no receipt at all. The hotel had printed an itemized bill, but it was not given to us . . . it was for them to keep?? We were only given a credit card receipt printed off of their machine which showed only the amount charged. I have never stayed at a hotel and been given that kind of a receipt before. Also, they usually take your credit card when you check in but finalize your bill when you check out. If you choose to check out a day early, you have that option. In this case you paid for your entire stay up front so if you decided to leave a day early you still are charged for the time that you booked. We had 3 people staying in our room and were given 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 wash cloths. I went to the front desk to ask for another towel and was given one, but they also wanted my room number so they could record that I had 3 towels in that room. You would think that knowing that we had 3 people in our room, we would have at least been given 3 towels. Saturday morning we went to the lobby about 5:45 to see if there was any coffee or any breakfast available before we headed out to the flea market. I was rudely told by the front desk clerk that breakfast did not open until 6 a.m. . . . although all the food and everything was already put out. I guess no one was allowed to eat 10 or 15 minutes early even though it was ready. We left and stopped by Krispy Kreme. When we returned Saturday evening to our room, we could not get in with our keys. Our friends also could not get in their room. I took our keys to the front desk and she told me that they must have got deactivated from our cell phones. My key was nowhere near my cell phone and my husband's key was in his wallet. Same for my friends . . . their keys and cell phones were not anywhere close to each other. Evidently they must have deactivated our cards for some reason. They re-swiped them and we were able to get in. Once in our room my daughter headed to shower and told me once again that we have only 2 towels. I headed to the front desk to get another towel and she wrote down my room number to make sure we didn't steal it I guess. The location of the hotel has been handy for us but it looks like I will be finding something different for our next visit. Too many hassles for me this time. The rooms need some updating too. Our TV was so dark you could hardly even see the picture and the beds were very hard.

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!!!
THE ONLY REASON I STAYED THERE WAS BECAUSE MOST OF THE OTHER HOTELS WERE BOOKED TO A CONCERT THEY WERE HAVING IN THE CITY. THE PERSON AT THE FRONT DESK WAS VERY RUDE AND DUE TO THE FACT I DID NOT WANT TO RECEIVE A FEE FOR CANCELING I STAYED. THE INTERNET WAS NOT WORKING AND WHEN ASKED ABOUT IT, THE CLERK SAID IT WAS WORKING FINE SO I HAD TO ACESS IT THROUGH MY CELL PHONE. THERE WAS A GUEST ATTEMPTING TO CHECK IN WHEN I WAS AND I GAVE HIM THE EYE AND SHAKING OF THE HEAD TO PROCEED NO FUTURE. GOOD THING I WAS OUT OF THE ROOM MORE THAN IN. I WILL INDEED NOT EVER BE BACK AGAIN. THANKS

doo doo on the toilet seat
I'm sure this isn't that bad of a place usually based on other reviews and the girl that checked me in was super nice.. But After checking in and going to my room, there was dried doo doo on the toilet seat, I saw counless dead bugs on the floor like it had not been vacuumed and there was some shady people outside my room... i tried to suck it up and take a shower but while I was in the shower I was thinking that someone might break into my room and was uncomfortable... since my kids were going to be staying with me one night and it did not feel safe I just went back up to the front and checked out of the room and went downtown to a nicer hotel.

Uneventful stay
Everything I expected from the hotel. Clean, comfortable enough and a great value in price. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and nice. Only drawback was the noise from the interstate, but.. it is to be expected that close to it!

I saw many attractions & went to 2 concerts. These were awesome. My hotel was alright it seemed kind of run down a little. There were holes in my sheets. I paint peeling off the wall. This trip was good, but it could have been better if the hotel was better & the taxi services were better.

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The continental breakfast consisted of plain bagels and cereal and the maid staff barged in the room at 9 am before we had checked out. Otherwise the hotel and the location were great.
