Great stay!!

Staff and valet were great!!# Hotel was being renovated which was weird to get to the check in etc.. But overall was good.. I was woke up by strange vibrating noises etc. But I think it was the construction mixed with cleaning staff..

visiting home

For the amount of money I paid for the room , I expected better service. My first room had ants. I moved to the top floor. Went for Breakfast on the top floor, the staff were hinting that they were gonna call security because they knew some ppl weren't supposed to be up there. I guess it was because I was black. Mind you, I have to use my room key to get on the top floor. She was very rude. Didn't want to give us silverware for our breakfast. I will not be staying here ever again.

Beale Street is very cool. Most of the bars and restaurants have live music, one band better than the other. You have to have a grease burger at Dyers, but take your Beano first!

Probably won't stay again!

When we arrived at 4:00 our room was not ready. I was told that we would receive a phone call when it was ready. We waited about 30 minutes and finally loaded our luggage back in the car to try and get to our destination that even brought us to stay at the hotel and we were late. When we made it back to the hotel at 7:30 I still hadn't received a phone call but we did get a room. It did not have a refrigerator like was stated on the site. I wasn't very happy with our stay in general but the room was clean. I would hope so especially since it wasn't ready when it should have been.

Easy Trolley Access and Quiet Hallways

We loved the convenient access to the trolley. We also were glad that the hallways were quiet so we could sleep in when we wanted to. I was disappointed with the long wait to check in. But the room was comfortable - especially the beds and bedding. There could have been a little more cleaning of some fixtures on the ceiling. There was dust hanging from the sprinkler. I also wish the drain in the bathtub drained faster and the curtain would close more securely. However, I would stay at this hotel again and probably will because we love how quiet it is and can take a quick trip to Beale Street with ease by the trolley.

A nice standard, but to me some things could be better

The room is clean and comfortable, nothing to complain really, except for too many pillows on my bed. I like the recycling option, even though, to be even more eco-friendly, they could add a bed-sheet/towel non-replacement option. The wide open lobby makes it seem you are in your room in no time, when coming in and out, but obviously this design takes away from the cozy feeling that the lobbies of some other hotels have. But if you like it anonymous, the lobby design helps. What I did not like is the fact that they do not let you self-park, so you always have to pay for valet parking, or do street parking (which, on the other hand, wouldn't cost you between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.). The pool is a little small, so when there are already other people in there, it can be a little uncomfortable. Hot top would always help, which they don't have. But I did like that special room they have on the top floor with a nice view and free snacks and beverages. When I stay at hotels, it always bothers me that I cannot open any windows. This is the case here as well. The hotel doesn't have a nice area to sit outside in the sun either, which I believe cannot be a standard expectation for most hotels.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

While Main Street doesn't have too much to offer, walk a little further north, i.e. beyond its intersection with Beale Street. There are some eclectic bars and stores, dance studios, art galleries, and other business incubation activities. But don't get too excited, like parts of many US cities, this area still seems to be recovering from the urban abandoning of the previous decades. Also, don't forget that you can have an unobstructed view of a sunset along the Mississippi in the evenings!
