Stay somewhere else
The staff was nice, but the first room they gave me was VERY cold. I turned the heat on MAX, left for 2-3 hours, came back and was still freezing. Also, the remote/tv combo didn't work. I think it was broken on the TV. I turned all the lights on, and it was still very dimly lit. I called and the man at the desk was very nice. He moved me to another room, which was still cold (I turned it on max, left for a few hours, came back and it was tolerable) but at least it was well lit and I had a nice flat screen tv with a good remote. I did sleep in my sweats to stay warm. I left the heat on max, and by the second night, the room was much more pleasant. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again unless there was nothing available anywhere else.

Horrible
First... I asked for a non-smoking room. They gave me a smoking room. I got in the room and it reaked of smoke... It was like they had a smoke air freshener. I saw roaches. In the bathrom there were holes in the walls. The pull out couch had no sheets and there was blood on the mattress. Everytime I left the room I had to get a new key because the key didn't work. This place was awful.

Great Bang for the Buck
The Hotel was as advertised and I couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Staff and the room condition. The hotel distance from 6th street was a little farther than 1.6miles away ( As stated ) but the distance wasn't to bad at all. Overall my experience was pleasent and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Staying at this small vintage
Staying at this small vintage hotel was a lot of fun. It is conveniently located and the price is just right. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, very large and comfortable. If you don't mind looking at a parking garage, and you like value and convenience to either downtown or midtown Memphis, this is the place for you.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had
I travel somewhat frequently and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Upon arriving, I found that the room and the amenities were not as described on the website. The room was dirty and smelly, with a lot of dead bugs lying around (I was glad to not find live bugs, but finding multiple dead cockroaches in highly visible places is gross and unacceptable). The mini-fridge in the room was moldy and, like the rest of the accomodations, smelly and unclean. The staff was rude and not helpful. The area is also somewhat noisy at night, but that isn't hotel specific. Lastly, my credit card was "accidentally" used to pay for other customers' hotel bills as well as my own. When I finally got in touch of the hotel to rectify the problem (correction: when my credit card company got in touch with them, as the hotel staff did not answer the phone at the number provided), they sounded neither surprised nor apologetic. I would NOT recommend this hotel based on my stay in July. I have since moved to the Memphis area and would definately recommend another hotel based on my knowledge of the safety of the area around this hotel.

Outstanding Value for the Price
The Holiday Capri in Memphis was an outstanding motel! While the outside of the building is dated (it has been repainted) and the neighborhood doesn't appear to be the nicest (although it was safe-we didn't have any worries), the rooms are huge and completely brand new! This hotel have clearly put a lot of effort into ensuring your stay is comfortable in a clean, spacious room. When my wife and I entered our room, we couldn't believe how large it was, and how nice it was---brand new everything---it even had granite counter tops. We were very pleased. Also, we brought our Golden Retriever along, and it worked out great. If you are visiting Memphis, stay at the Holiday Capri! You will be very pleased with the quality you receive for the price you pay!

Nightlife tip:
Short drive from hotel
Beale Street (Blues Clubs!) is only a short drive from the Holiday Capri! Also, it only took us about 15 minutes to get to Graceland!

My review of Holiday Capri Motel Memphis
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Capri Motel Memphis. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful. We were very close to the down town area which was very important to us. The cost of the rooms were very reasonable. I think everything about the Motel overall was great. I would definitely recommend this Motel to my family and friends.

Great Renovation
The location of this hotel is a bit shady, but the staff and the hotel itself was wonderful. Everything was clean and new. The owners were very attentive to our needs and courteous. There were no extra amenities (pool, hairdryer, hotel dining, etc.) The location was convenient to jump on the expressway and to the Memphis nightlife. It was perfect for what we needed.
