Stopped off for work
This place is okay. Friendly staff. Not right downtown where you want to go, but an easy enough ride on the trolley there and a $10 cab ride back. The rooms were clean.

Great Weekend
When you check in be sure to ask after Elbert the Bellman. Upon getting to the room to settle in, the electronic door card lock would not open. He tried 3 different times - up and down from registration to our room. Finally he was able to get us moved to another room, with a better view! All the while just as nice as could be, always smiling and reassuring us. The next day he saw us in the lobby and asked how our stay was. Marriott has a real treasure there. Bummer the manager did not check after us or even the front desk clerk. A courtesy call would have been nice. Otherwise very accessible to major attractions and trolley. We took a ride down to Beale Street. Short drive to Graceland and Mud Island access very easy to get to. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening, great food! Overall a wonderful weekend, if ever in Memphis we will consider the Marriott our top choice.

Memphis
My flight from Charlotte left early and I had to take standby flights to Memphis. I almost did not make the awards show but with some luck and great Airtran people I made it. I called to make sure my room would be held and it was given away and told it was dirty ant 8:00pm but I was given a temp room so I could chnage and while I was at the awrds show they moved my gear for me to a room with a view on the 17th floor. I had a great time and a great view!! Thanks for all Donna C

Nice hotel
Marriot was a great hotel. There were just a lot of very little things that came up that you wouldn't expect at such a quality hotel. Liked the chocolates before bed - but not always there!? No conciere, so very little information was verbally given to help in our tour of Memphis. No shuttle service to any where! Trolly line just out the door to Beale St. - fun!

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
There is NO shopping downtown Memphis! Great place to hear music and eat good food, but the closest shopping area is about a $30.00 taxi ride (one way!)

Words can't express
I booked this on line and couldn't wait for the experience we were told we were going to GeT. I asked for Handicapped room because my boyfriend has MS didn't get it. Called ahead of time for double beds didn't get that employee had to redo room. We went to concert. We got to our room that we spent 161.00 on and was Disappointed. No fridge and no wash rags when we asked the cleaning lady on the 5 th floor she argued with us. I told her I did not see any and she assured us they were in there. When I had to call front desk I waited 45 minutes to take a shower because of no wash rag. The radio did not work and most of tv channels. We stayed in hotel in tunica the night before for 69 dollars and got a great breakfast and perfect treatment. We were told they would give us free breakfast never got it.

Great Place To Stay
Always a great place to stay. We went swimming and hot-tubbing and they were both very clean and the temperature of both was perfect. Beds pillows and linens are always very comfortable. Sorry the concierge dining area was closed on the weekends. Otherwise, would have been completely perfect.

good price for the location
The staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone we came in contact with was extremely polite, courteous and professional. The overall hotel was average. The rooms were average. My only complaint was that there was no fridge in the room. It is not to far to walk to Beale St. and there is also a trolley that runs all through downtown that picks you up right in front of the hotel.

Nice hotel
I enjoyed my stay. We spent New Year's in the hotel bar due to the rain and had a good time. My only complaint was the valet system. It was very unorganized.
