Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis-Shady Grove

Stayed five nights over Labor Day weekend. Payed something just under $80/night. Great value at that price. The included breakfast was good, plenty to choose from. Room was clean, airconditioner worked overtime, almost froze us a couple times. The exercise room was well-equipped for a smallish hotel; a couple treadmills, freeweights, a bench, and some other contraption only women use. Our single King bed room had a fridge and an extra sink outside of the bathroom. Bonus! We got a voucher for a free movie since we stayed 5 nights. Room for improvement: The room didn't have a microwave. The airconditioner was old, no digital thermostat, controlled by a colder/hotter knob on the machine itself. No safe in the room. The pool is outdoors and very small. Biggest complaint: The TV was awful. A flatscreen, yes, but small for the size of the room, slooooow as molasses when changing channels, volume, etc, and horrible picture quality. It was like trying to watch a broadcast from Mars or something. The picutre was old standard square format, stretched out to fill the widescreen and very, very low resolution so everything was grainy and blurred. The picture was bad like this on all channels and the movie we ordered with our bonus voucher. Bummer.

The gentleman (Kevin) at the front desk was so cordial and helpful. He made us feel very welcome even though it was a busy holiday weekend. We went out for a little while and when we got back to our room, there was a message from the front desk checking to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. How nice is that? No complaints from me! The hotel was in a safe and nice area in Memphis and only minutes away from everything we wanted to do. The breakfast was very good with hot food both mornings!

Great staff, very very clean and quiet. I will be back in Memphis next month and will stay there again!

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. There were 3 of us in a 2 double room. it worked fine for us. We were mostly out & about, but did feel comfortable while at the hotel. Breakfast was great & it was quite the convenience. We had a fridge in our room, but no microwave. Overall had a great experience &wld stay there again. Location was great as well. 15 min from downtown area, closer to plenty of food & places 2 shop.

We came to town for a family reunion. The hotel was super nice. Great staff. Clean room. A bottle of water and a sack were in the room. Other hotels I've been to will have bottled water in the room but charge you if you drink it. Little things like the free bottle of water and cheese nips make a difference. Comfy bed. No complaints. A good breakfast also

Service was great. Room was clean. The only issue is the window HVAC unit. It is loud and pulsates. Other than that it is a great place to stay.

This was not my first stay at this hotel. That is why I came back. Very friendly and accomodating staff, clean rooms and great location. Close to many dining choices.

I went to Memphis for the Clapton concert at the FedExForum. My friend is from Memphis and recommended this side of town for safety reasons since I was traveling alone. I loved this hotel. It was easy to find. It also was tucked out of the way for some peace and quiet, but still was close enough to the Interstate and other attractions that it was convenient. I definitely would stay here again.
