Nice older hotel
The Econo Lodge Downtown is older and doesn't have the polish of the Comfort Inn or Sleep Inn. But...

Great Location
The hotel was in a great location, within walking distance from EVERYTHING from the FedEx Forum to Beale St. The hotel even had a great Jazz and Blues Club downstairs. Unfortunately, the walls in the rooms are paper thin and I could literally hear my brother breathing in the room next door.

Short walk from hotel
Be prepared to spend at least two nights taking in Beale St. It is so much to see and do, from BB King's restaurant to Coyote Ugly.

Better than what other reviews say!
Good for a one night trip to Beale St or a Memphis Red Birds game. The room was like any other hotel that isn't outrageous. You get what you pay for. It's not the Peabody but you pay about a third of the price. The room was clean. No bugs, stains, smells or any other problems that others have stated in there reviews. I will be staying here again on my next trip to Beale St. You can't beat the price for the location!

Perfect place, nice pool, great location
We really enjoyed our stay: the hotel staff was very nice, the room big and clean, the pool great and necessary because of the extremely hot weather in Memphis! the hotel is 5 minutes walking distance from Maine Street and Beale Street. We really recommend this hotel!

Nice Stay!!!!!
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Econo Lodge. It is in a great location, only a couple blocks from Beale. The room was very spacious and very clean. The staff was very accomodating and we would definitely stay there again! The only complaint I had was that when we arrived, we had to pay 10 dollars for parking. The hotel parking garage also offered public parking in it for the same price. I thought this should be complimentary to guests. Other than that, we had a great night in Memphis at Econo Lodge Downtown.

Clean, safe, and comfortable!!
We stayed at 3 different hotel chains in different cities during our road trip. The Red Roof was by far the BEST hotel we stayed in. We had a very large room that was extremely clean, had a refrigerator and microwave, and was very quiet. There was even multiple free types of coffes/ lattes/ cappuccinos in the lobby. There are really only two downfalls to this hotel; it is 20 minutes from St. Louis and the hotel room doors lead directly outside (There are no inside hallways).

Unbeatable price for the location
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Econolodge so we could be within walking distance of Beale St. It was only a 5-10 minute walk. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. It was a good place to stay and the pricing was very reasonable. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend to anyone looking the visit Beale St.

Not bad!
I went for a little get away and it was right in walking distance to most things! It was located right downtown and it was great! For a poor college student looking for a place to stay, it was great for the price!
