Budget accommodations

Not bad for the price. Location was within walking to Beale St. The room was spacious and clean. However the walls were very thin and noise from adjoining rooms was an issue. Bring ear plugs. Also if you want the continental breakfast go early. Once they run put of items they do not replenish them. If you are looking for an inexpensive downtown location and can live with less than deluxe accommodations it's a good place to stay

Ew

Okay, the location of this hotel was perfect. Less than a 5 minute walk to Beale street and that was awesome. However, I booked a non smoking room and it didn't matter because the whole hotel smelled like cigarettes. And maybe it's a Memphis thing, but you absolutely could not understand any of the staff. Also our room was moist the entire weekend! I have no clue what this is about but the windows were always fogged up as mirrors are when you get out of the shower. The elevator was either broke or took 15 minutes to make it to the 9th floor, so there were multiple times we had to use the stairs. There were bleach stains on the bedding, the carpet was itchy on our feet, and the pictures of this hotel are EXTREMELY deceiving. I honestly am not a snob and I don't mind a lower end hotel given the location. However this place was not worth $100 a night and I honestly would have liked to have known what I was getting myself into. Be cautious and DO NOT trust the pictures.

Good location, needs some serious repairs

The hotel staff were nice. I only needed the hotel to spend the night, so I did not stay too terribly long--just sleeping. The AC/Heat unit was broken. When I entered the room, it was hot as h-ll--literally. I tried to turn down the heat but the knob was broken. I ended up sleeping without any heat. The windows also did not open. The location was good, however.

weekend stay

Breakfast was good and location was exactly where we wanted to be for walking. The elevator was nerve racking but other than that you get what you paid for.

Got what we paid for

Very good location, 5 to 10 mins walk from all memphis downtown attractions. Very helpful and polite staff. However the hotel is in need of a full re- fit. Everything is dated and well worn. Would only go back because of price and location.

If you don't smoke don't stay here!

Our room was smoke free but you could smell. Smoke everywhere. The halls were full of it.The staff were loud, they knocked at our door at 8:00 am to ask if we were checking out!I would rate this hotel a fair to not good. We were told the hotel was 3 blocks away from Beale St. It is not, it is 5 blocks away. It wouldn't be a problem normally, but was had a person in a wheel chair. It was a big challenge to travel the 5 blocks because the sidewalks were uneven and not handicap accessible. We took a taxi back 5 blocks and we were charged 15.00 ! What a rip off! Beale St. Was a huge let down. The music was good but the bars will try to sucker you everyway they can. One place took our drinks when we left our table to take a photo! It wasn't even busy there! The best place we found was right across our hotel. It was great. The people friendly and the music was hot!

"More needs to be done"

staff needs to be more friendly and welcoming. more needs to be done to improve the comfort and decor of the room. the location is ideal. more care needs to be taken with the bed linen and carpet. the ac worked extremely well. the breakfast was very disappointing - nothing to brag about. however, I would stay there again. overall, the hotel needs improving.

Nothing Fancy

Our stay was fine considering this is an old hotel that could stand some serious updating. The staff was courtious and helpful. The parking is all inside the hotel and it is located just a few blocks away from the entertaining hub of Beale Street. For the money, or for someone with a tight budget, I would reommend this hotel over some others in the area.

roaches

Hotel is in a perfect spot but I saw roaches on two occasions. We zipped up our bags checked them before we left, shaking them out, and are hoping for the best. That is one present we do not want to take home.
