Family Check In

I always enjoy the accomdations of this hotel. The location, resturant, and the rooms are of good quality. The location makes for easy access to my family. The resturant has a great memu for morning. noon and night. by way the cookies don't hurt my feelings. However some of the help disappoints. When I arrived at the hotel no one assisted unloading my bags. Once I had unloaded the car and was in the hotel a man ran up to me to help, just a little late. My Mom said he engrossed in conversation and wasn't paying any attention. Upon leaving the same thing, dispite two men standing at the desk chating. They never said a thing not good morning , may I help or good bye. The front desk and the maid for our room were fine.

Doubletree - not so great

Parking was awful; there was a creepy security guard writing down license plates in the parking lot; checking in was great - they had a warm cookie; thin walls, neighbors tv was loud; dirty carpet; desk chair was too low for the table and made working extremely difficult; coffee creamer had been put into the fridge and was lumpy; iron was blackened from plastic melted onto it.

Hotel Nice but the Room Needed Work

The hotel was great, nice area and easy to find. About 8 miles from the airport. They gave me a handicap room which wouldn't have been bad if that was the only issue. I couldn't shut the curtains. The full-length mirror closet doors wouldn't shut. The first night I woke up every time the very loud heater came on. Finally, in the morning, I had to take a cold shower because nobody told me it took a good 10 minutes for the water to get hot. The good was that the bed was comfortable and there was free wireless internet.I was there on business and their meeting rooms were great except they didn't have wired internet, it's probably something they could have gotten for us had they known. The Food was great and staff was friendly. I feel for the price, the room should have been better. [...] I think they gave me a substandard room. I think I'm pretty easy going but this was the worst room I had in years.

"Horrific Holiday"

Originally the customer service rep advised us that Tunica was 30 minutes away from the hotel but it was an hour away. The windows were dirty, walls were dirty, and the rooms really needed to be remodeled. This was nothing like the Double Tree in Atlanta. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Loved it!

The warm, gooey chocolate chip cookies upon arrival helped me like this hotel immediately. The easy access to my conference at the Fogelman Center on the U of Memphis campus made me like it a lot. The incredibly soft bed and comfy down comforter helped me fall in love!

Mediocre, fine for sleeping

It was a great location for our purpose. It was located within 15 minutes of the things we planned to see and do. When we returned from our day, the maid crew generally left the lights on and would forget to stock something that we needed. The restaurant in the hotel's main lobby took 1 1/2 hours to bring our food to the table and at that point the chicken wasn't even fully cooked. If you don't intend to spend much time other than sleeping in the hotel, then it could be somewhat accommodating. However, if you need towels, good food or any basic amenity other than sleep...don't bother.

Happy Memphis Hotel

My Mom and I were celebrating her 80th birthday for our weekend visit. The hotel staff was very nice and accomodating but when I inquired about our free breakfast they called the manager and he was unaware of this offer and was going to check on this and "make it right" but never did. Our room had to be changed because of a musty smell and we waited 45 minutes for a replacement key. When cleaning, the housekeeper forgot coffee refills, the floor was not vacummed, and the pillows on the beds were not straight.
