Comfortable and close to everything fun!

The staff were very friendly. The resort itself was in a nice location. It was right on the ocean so there was no need to bring a bag or purse. Just a short walk with your towel and sunscreen and you are there. The room had good points and bad. Good:it was clean and cool. Since it was over 100 degrees while we were there, it was nice to escape the heat.Loved having a washer and dryer in our room! We had a complete kitchen as well but since we spent most of the time away from the hotel we didn't use it. If you plan on just spending time on the ocean then I suggest you go to the store and save some money. Cook your meals in your own room. The full size appliance were fairly new and there was every possible kitchen tool you would need, including dishes. If you have smaller children the lazy river provides hours of fun. There are two, one at the north and the other south tower. The north lazy river is much nicer. My daughter is 13 and she loved it! Bad: be specific when you book your room. My wife wanted "ocean front" so we could watch the sun rise from our room but instead we got an "ocean view" which means you have to walk out on your balcony and lean to the left or right (depending on which side of the hotel your room is on) to see the ocean! Our views consisted of another hotel and the pond and entrance at the back of the hotel. (We got a corner room, not our idea) Also, while we were there, many elevators were out of order. One day it might be two not working and the next it might be one and then the next three! Also... be careful of huge water puddles! We took the stairs down (due to elevators not working) and my wife hit her head on the last set of stairs trying to walk around a huge puddle! She is fine now but it left a huge goose egg on her head! The staff were very nice about it and got right to fixing the elevators and cleaning up the puddle. Also, for the price of the room we would have liked to had a complimentary breakfast. The in-house restaurant was expensive.Nine dollars a person even children for the breakfast buffet. Despite the bad points, it was a nice place to stay.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

If you want to have a fun place to eat lunch or supper (if you are the rowdy type) I suggest eating at Dick's Last Resort on Barefoot Landing! The waiter was funny and it was the highlight of the trip! Warning! if you do not like rude, obnoxious people you better pass this one up!It's all in fun! We had a ton of it! Also, the Plantation Pancake house was a short drive from the hotel, great food/service and three people could eat a large breakfast each for under $15 total! This would be a better option then to eat at the Seawatch!
